For once somebody said it. What we call AI is as dumb as a piece of bread and when you use it for something, you always have to be careful what you wish for. You might actually get it.
I learned that lesson from my socialist Orcs and would sooner let a trained monkey drive me around than let an AI that runs on some microcontroller fail at that.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

We all know (but sales forbid to tell) that AI is anything that have a decision making tree deeper than 10 ifs...
And we all know that you have to be dumb to write such code...

I suppose you haven't been to QA lately, since that's pretty much what we have there and I'd rather trust a 640K IBM clone PC.

My dad owns an SUV that's loaded with sensors that can make the vehicle stick into a lane, adaptive cruise control, warn when changing lanes, blind spots, etc.
Lately one of them is faulty and will warn him of imminent collisions when there's clearly nobody around for miles.
Not a huge deal and I'm sure it's an easy fix for the dealer, but that got me thinking - clearly, sensors have to become a whole lot more reliable before their output can be trusted as input needed for any decision made by a self-driving car. Or else that thing would've needlessly parked itself on the side of the road a few times already.
I say this as a software developer: I do NOT want a self-driving car.

0 Got up late
1. In a hurry placed the coffee capsule in a wrong way, Coffee machine got flooded
2. To escape from sleeping in couch, had to clean up the kitchen and wasted more time
3. Rush and forgot to bring the coffee I made again after cleaning
4. Just reached office parking in time
5. Forgot the access card. Another delay
6. Sat on my desk and I realized I took my laptop home and left it there
So Now I have a borrowed laptop from another department which has the following
a. Office
b. Chrome
c. CAD software
d. Solitaire
so Today is Just browsing and playing cards.

Well back in those days you couldn't openly admit to wanting to be penetrated from the rear, so you had to at least put on some show that you were trying to prevent it from happening.
