I use the Acronis backup software. As a backup solution it meets my purposes, but I don't know about the anti-ransomware part.
From a couple of experiments that I performed, I suspect that it only protects its own backups against modification by external programs, so you can always recover your system from the backup. It does not replace a full anti-virus solution, and it does not eliminate the hassle of restoring your system if the worst happens.
I would not get rid of any anti-virus software just yet...

I've tried to install a software from one of my usual providers and that Active Protection thing paused the installation and asked if I wanted to continue...
That's how I discovered it was running... 
I will not get rid of my AV...

I've used Acronis for many years and never had any kind of popup or other notification from True Image. I'm thinking it only protects the backups!
They call me different but the truth is they're all the same!

AVG does that to me a lot. Sometimes it will refuse to run an application until it goes out to it's site and checks it which usually takes 15-20 minutes. What a PITA, but it's free and it does the job so I can't complain.

Aconis went through some shaky times but it seems they've recovered. It's a very good product and a leader in the industry.
I've used it for many years and it has saved my butt more than once.

I've been using AOMEI since OG recommended it. It worked perfectly for me. Lately I've needed one paid feature and tried to buy it.
It's been impossible... They have no other way to get the software than their web page and in order to buy there you must have an international VAT number active (if you want an invoice for your company).
So after speaking with them and ahving not other option I went for Acronis... I have bought it in my usual software provider... at a better price than AOMEI for 3 computers. A Great deal and, moreover, the main brand of PLC I use can be backed up with a tool from the manufacturer that is an embedded acronis in a OEM USB stick. So win win for me... (I still don't know if that ransomware protection thing can be considered a win too).

I tried using Acronis once; it failed to create a full backup even once on Win10. I contacted them, let Support in to check my settings, and even they could never make it work. 'Tis a mystery...

So I just had to create a custom DataGridViewColumn for a custom control.
No prob, looked up an example and...
It's a date control and the calendar that opens is placed on the form and not on the control itself.
The effect is that the editor in the grid closes and the value from the calendar is never written back to the grid cell.
Again, no problem, I create an event when the calendar closes and write the value to the cell manually.
If it looks stupid and it works then it ain't stupid...
So anyway, all goes well, except...
When I set a second value the first value is reset.
I've spent an entire evening looking for the issue!
I've tried everything from looking at specific grid events, creating additional events, editing the bound object directly...
The issue was that when the calendar closed it was the last control in the tab order so it would return to the first control which reloads the screen on leave 
I switched two lines of code, first raise the event and then close the calendar, instead of the other way around.
It would now first select the grid and set the value and then close the calendar, worked like a charm

They're the lowest of low, the scum of the WinForm controls, the most wretched, miserable, servile pathetic trash that was ever sh*t into programming!
When I did some serious development I used DevExpress controls.
Now that stuff was nice.
Great controls that worked like they were supposed to work.
I'm sure other vendors like Infragistics and Telerik have/had(?) similar controls.
But not the standard WinForm controls and especially not the DataGridView
