I always preferred this: Adobe[^] - Microsoft used the same message with early C++ compilers as well.

At one time I was working on a business critical WinForms application.
Sometimes we'd get an (really unexpected and random) error in our software and display an error like "An unexpected error occurred, please contact an administrator."
We couldn't display what really happened as we simply didn't know.
The problem was, users would just ignore it and continue, resulting in invalid orders and production data (which was usually discovered days later).
So our solution was quite simple, include the technical error message and stack trace in a screen filling error message.
Now that the error looked a lot more intimidating users were hesitant to simply ignore it and almost always called in an administrator who would then start over to prevent invalid data and report to us so we could actually fix the issue

But, but that is my standard error message functionality, with a button to email it to the front line support. Then crash the application, works about 95% of the time.

There's a time for humour, but when someone suffers a program crash is not one of them.
If I'd lost work/time/effort over such a crash, my immediate instinct would be to kick the smarmy wanker in the teeth.
