I'm assuming that you wanted to become a web developer. In my opinion, a good start would be at https://www.freecodecamp.org/[^].It basically guides you from HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ES6, Jquery, React, BootStrap a whole lot more. Moreover; after learning the front end, you can choose which backend solution you want to focus on. Backend devs use languages like PHP, Ruby, Python, Java, and .Net. Good luck.

Hello Everyone!
I am a Electrical Engineer, I have used basic programming languages such as VBA and Arduino platforms.
I work for a coal mine in WV. I was given the following task:
1. Develop a program that uses a picture of the mine map.
2. Over this mine map I would have movable objects
3. These objects would represent equipment in the mine
4. We move this equipment through out the coal mine. I would like to be able to click and drag and relocate this equipment on the map
5. Also double click and be able to view information that is stored on our shared drive, such as electrical and hydraulic prints for the equipment.
6. Zoom in and out on the map
My hope for this is to get it working on a big screen TV with a touch screen overlay attachment. To run it from a near by designated PC.
I am pretty resourceful I just need a direction to start in and some advice. The mass amounts of information on the web makes it hard to get going in the correct direction.

I would expect such a project to require the use of one of the .NET languages, C# or VB.NET and perhaps also WPF. Those products have rich functionality and support libraries for much of what you want. However the actual project would need more than one person to get it complete in a reasonable time. I think you probably need to get a good consultant in to ensure management understand the amount of work involved, and to help get things started.

What I do is go to Amazon.com and search for Python books. I then filter to those with high customer ratings. I read through the reviews and find 1 or 2 that I like. Then I usually go to ebay and buy it.

You will never fully know everything about the language. But to get proficient will take as long as it takes you, depending on how quickly you learn.
Start with a book and do the exercises. You may find out you don't really want to be a programmer.

There is a revisions link on the left side of articles. If it is not there add a comment at the bottom of the article asking that question and it will email the author with your question.

In Biztalk 2013 R2 i have installed the blogical free adapter(code plex)
to connect with SFTP (port 2222) http Proxy(port 8080) .

I don't know programming or web-developement. I am looking to buy an application which can offer following features:
1) sales executives who work on field and takes order and can record it.
2) The orders can be recorded and managed through various status like
Pending,in-progress and completed.
3) The clients should be able to receive notification via SMS about their order status.
4) The Admin section should display the reports of total sales.
5) The billing system should record the income,expense,etc.
6) The mobile app version will be helpful for it.
Can you please suggest any ready-made CMS paid or open source offering such features?
Or I should consider hiring a developer to build from sctrach?

Well, accidents happen.
I though I am out of the tentacles of writing ".bat" files.
But ... I have "inherited " a bash script and being "forced" to learn how to write and use bash. I am having tough time to write my questions in proper English, hence I am not welcomed in most of the "forums" I have tried.
Is there a specific forum on this site where I can freely ask about bash and actually learn it from discussions?

Bash is easy if you have already used .bat files. The difficulty comes when someone uses fancy things like find, awk, grep etc. You could see if you can find a copy of the man pages in your own language.

So far my main problem has been "command substitution " and "redirection".
The other issue is that I see a bad trend ( to me ) - people just cannot reply to a request without giving me a sermon - "why are you doing that? "
And if I reply they will complain about my way of communicating and a simple request turns into lesson in English, or worse.

But that is a valid question. You may be "doing that" for a good reason, but the question does not make it clear. Or you may be doing it because someone (who does not know) has given you a bad example. So just explain why, and why you need help. Complaining to people who are actually trying to help you makes them less likely to do so in future. So post a question with as much detail as possible and be prepared to enter into a friendly discussion with anyone who responds.
