The Delta Quadrant would be a ride around the block for Voyager 6. Look what happened when it came back in 1979[^] and found the planet infested with carbon units.

the ESA had their budget cut too: crash testing on location, well that was a tad too overdone.

The place: My bed.
Herself: "Wake up! Something is talking in your office!"
Me: "Wablurkle? Hurgleflip?"
Herself: "WAKE UP! Something is TALKING in your office!"
I listen. Nothing.
Me: "What did it say?"
Herself: "«Attention Please: battery low.»"
Herself: "You better go look."
I drag myself out of bed (a complex process given where the cat is and the degree of retribution I get if I wriggle too much).
I look round the office. Nothing is on, except the "always on" stuff - router, NAS, traditional bunch of chargers, freezer.
Go and get a glass of water. Go back to bed.
Time: 04:01
«Attention Please: battery low.»
Smoke detector. And it's going to do this every 30 minutes until I fix it. Sod.
Go downstairs again, remove battery from detector.
Report back on actions.
Herself: "At least it wasn't anything important, like the router."
