Both items shipped by NewEgg from (US). The nVME shipped on Monday, the adapter shipped yeterday. The NewEgg site said both items were in stock.

Yep, I have that happen with ammo sites quite often. They try to ship from the closest DC, but if that one is low/out, they will pull from another. While I only pay one shipping fee, they can't logistically put all of that in the same box to ship it together.

Interesting. I had the opposite experience. I just bought a couple of monitors from NewEgg. One arrived 2 days earlier than what the tracking number said and the other one arrived a week earlier than what the tracking info said.
Everyone is born right handed. Only the strongest overcome it.

I almost invariably have items with their free shipping, and it usually arrives in 2-3 days, once the next day (NJ->NY).
A Concept: If they were paying for the shipping you know they'd optimize the cost and ship them together if at all possible.

I used to like newegg - less every year. Return policies are absurd. For example, I purchased two 2.5" external enclosures that I wanted to be able to drop my NVME SSD into - there's a good bit of confusion over what slot fits what SSD. The description was less than stellar, and I missed the final info toward the bottom. So, after spending $40, then returning it and being charged an ABSURD amount for return shipping, plus a ridiculous re-stock fee, I got a credit back of $12.
yeah, I'd prefer to shop with them, but... as for shipping combined items, I have to side with John. One website rules everything, why should a customer care where the product is coming from?

When first saw samsungs folding phone prototype video, been trying to get my head around how the hinge would work on an outer surface fold?
Assuming even 1/2 thick iphone/pixel phone, when folded it is same thickness as current phones.
I can understand the screen being seemless on the inside fold, as samsuns video shows.
The bend stretch the screen needs is minimal.
Now if reversed, the hing point requires the screen to either stretch/shrink.
Or i am not getting it right in my mind. I am envisioing two bricks togeather. The gap between the edge of each brick in flat is 0.
But then fold, the same points on the outer edge now have a distance of the 2x thickness of the bricks.

I cannot possible understand the usefulness of this. I am sure it is there somewhere, as there was a strong enough use case for them to do the work, but I don't see it.

You get something with a tablet sized screen that still fits in your pocket like a phone.
eg 6" 1920x1080 becomes 10.25" 3240x1920 (give or take how they handle the bit of screen around the curves).

Or the extreme edges aren't glued down, so they slide.
There's any number of ways to make that practical/not ugly, e.g. by applying a stretchable polymer cover over the top of the screen.

I have always wanted a double-screen lightweight portable device; I could run a main-app on one screen, and configure the other to display what I wanted per application. But, I want a minimum size on the order of 8x11 inches minimum. And, the screens have got to look great, and the battery life minimum 18 hours, and so forth.
Looks to me like technical advancements and competition might just hatch such a beast in the next few years at a price mere mortals could pay.

Keiichi Okabe - The Weight of the World[^]
Happy new year everyone and welcome to the first SOTW of 2019! 
These past two weeks I've been playing NieR: Automata, an awesome game from 2017 by Square-Enix.
The soundtrack of the game is amazing.
This song plays at the credits.
There's also a Japanese and a French version which play at different endings.
And then there's a sort of medley version which plays at yet another ending.
All are amazing.
And there's a lot of other great tracks on the soundtrack as well.
I've finished the game at 100% so there's nothing left for me to do but listen to the soundtrack.
Already ordered it with a way too long shipping period because it has to come from Japan

Remember that data pull thing I was talking about?
Well, they DID change something on the other end. It turns out we were requesting data (by name) that had been renamed.
We changed our code to match their neww requirements, and we're back up to the expected 4.5 hours for the data pull.
