It's fair to say that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update has not been Microsoft's most successful update. "It's not the fall that kills you; it's the sudden stop at the end"
Long, but worth it IMO. Stuff like, "There's surprisingly little time spent actually developing new code: for a Windows release, two stints of 6-8 weeks over an entire three year period."

Even though I wasn't using Win10, the problems with the Oct update is what spurred me to move to Linux.
Microsoft should just stop all this Windows foolishness, and come out with it's own Linux distro.

More seriously, the update problem has also existed with Visual Studio. I see two problems at play; first, the release date takes on more importance than anything (which is compounded by managers reluctant to pull the plug on delaying features.)
Second, the increased dependency over-reliance on automated testing. Automated tests aren't magic; issues which can be found through automated tests require that the tests be written to find them. In turn this requires quality test engineers. There are also many issues which can only be found with use, again with quality test engineers. Regardless of how the the testing is done, the goal of the test engineer is NOT to prove a product works, but to prove it doesn't. Their job is to break the software as badly as possible.

Wow. Talk about asking the wrong questions.
How about: "Do they generally think the he or she has learned nothing useful or applicable to real world engineering, in archaic programming languages, taught by gentrified teachers who may have been able to teach something 30 years ago?
Such is my experience with the college graduates I've encountered. The only exception are those that are self-motivated to learn current skills on their own time, and that aren't "busy" playing computer games in their free time.

Doesn't motivate one to take on a new class; studying yourself is not only cheaper, it gets more results.
So why pay for some official paper?
