Well... Platypuses are mammals, but that doesn't stop them from laying eggs, or even having beaks, so, the joke is on you.

You mean that they're actually real animals?
BTW: The plural of platypus is Platypodes[^] (I looked it up because I thought it would be platypi!

Hi All,
I am one of those people who see a new technology/widget and think I wonder how I could use that, Hmmm its cheap enough, what the heck, I'll buy one. It arrives, and sits for a purpose or time to fiddle with and goes on the list of, 'when I have chance'. Today I have got the basics of one of those projects done at work, for work! I have successfully used a Raspberry Pi to deal with a test rig question, just plug the internet cat5 in and go, one LED means Ping successful, another ping failed.
So that Raspberry Pi & GPIO ticked off. I still want to play further with it now!

I have several development kits (Rabbit 2000 comes immediately to mind) that were so affordable, and advanced for their technology niche, that I couldn't resist buying. I have yet to write a single line of code, nor interface a single signal line to the real world for any of them. I thought that, once I was retired, I'd have time to play, but it turns out that retirement is a time of unlimited claims by others on one's "free" time. I should have remarried; then I'd have a wife who demands all my time, but doesn't really want to be around me.

This blew me away: Holochain/Holo Github visualization 28.08.2018 - YouTube
It's visualization of the commits by person over time. Absolutely stunning, IMO.

I am definitely a Lurker, though I know Eric and Arthur personally (Eric is a "neighbor", about 20 minutes away.)

Cool, tried to get it to work on my own machine, but that's not as easy as I'd hoped
However, here's a visualization of most of my repository commits by person over time:

Wow! Reminds me of a colony of lice breeding on a 2nd grader's head! No wonder modern software doesn't work. The visuals are stunning, though, and very well produced.
It makes me very happy that I did my professional development before all this collaborative crap was invented. It was bad enough to have to work in a pig pen full of distractions; having other people mess with my code would have driven me to homicide. In the years when I wrote industrial strength code for the DoD, I spent more time correcting other programmers' errors than writing my own applications. There's no way I'd ever let some other clown access and modify code I've written and thoroughly unit tested. I wasn't meant for this error-ridden world. I don't know how you guys and gals do it, but I'm proud of you for have the patience to do so. You can always sneak back in at night at fix the stuff your coworkers screwed up, I guess.

My tablet has been charging really slowly for a couple of days - like I used to leave it on standby while I slept and it'd be 100% by the time I wake up: but now I'm lucky if it charges to 50% when it's turned off and charging all day. Tried different chargers, different cables, ...
So I ran a toothpick over the micro USB connector and it seems to be charging faster, and I'm guessing it's gunk build up over time. Anyone got a good way to clean it, given the connector is teeny?

Difficult to get hold of in the UK these days.
And I'm not convinced it will do the PCB the connector is mounted to any good.
