OK - so you get your flux capacitor, DeLorean, plutonium and stick it all together, and whack it up to 88 mph. Fat lot of good it'll do you, but I guess it's as good a way of committing suicide as any.
Forget 1,000 mph at the equator as to earth rotates on its axis, forget the 67,000 mph of the earth around the sun. Think instead of the more than half a million mph of the solar system around the galaxy. Going back 30 years - ignoring the one minute to make the transition - and accepting that with an orbit of 230,000,000 years around the galaxy so the distance can be considered as a straight line, you are going to end up in a patch of space about 135 billion miles away from the earth.
Whoops - sorry - I forgot about the local super-cluster. Hmmm... 300kms towards Virgo, say 186 mps - seems like a further 176 billion miles away.
Looks like in those 30 years the earth has moved away by up to around a third of a trillion miles. Sorry, a DeLorean just isn't that fast, so the only remaining question is the mode of your death - will it be by being frozen solid in an instant, or by exploding due to your own blood pressure. 
See how much trouble you can get into by not doing your maths?

All you say is correct. The answer is that timelines follow the gravitational field that you started in. That is why you can timehop to the same point, 30 years earlier.
(I learnt this in a course on Introductory Temporal Physics and Warp Fields given by Zephram Cochrane.  )

Yes, I attended the same course. You probably remember me as the guy who kept interrupting him to tell him he was talking obllox.
It's all specious any way - 2.1 gigawatts simply can't warp spacetime over a third of a trillion miles. You would need to double that at least.
