Does anyone know what Quantum Computing might be?
Will it be another solution in search of a problem?
In popular culture Quantum step is taken to mean "Giant" when it should be the smallest possible increment, so straight away expectations have been raised to a ridiculous level.
Remember the fate of Marvin the android (with a brain the size of a planet) relegated to car park attendant.

Or we can just wait until they are replaced by duotronic computers. We might even skip them and wait for the first multitronic[^] computers.

No, I don't think so. The multitronic M5 ran on some kind of memory snapshot of its constructor (with interesting results).

If it's going to replace regular computers I guess I don't have much choice.
And that may happen in 100 years (which is still 10 or more, although if it takes that long I probably won't work with it anymore, but maybe I will because by that time healthcare will have made us immortal, what I'm saying is that I can't really look into the far future and make any sensible prediction, I'm not clairvoyant...)
So I'm really not sure.
