Not quite true - England would be best served by drawing and having more yellow cards or just losing as that path to the final is easier than if they win the group.

I've been guilty of that myself but only after trying and failing to find what I'm after in the documentation multiple times. Once I've been unable to find what I'm after 4 or 5 times, I just start skipping the documentation for that product and asking support.
Case in point, one of our vendors keeps changing their support page functionality. A couple weeks ago I could find the information I was after but yesterday the link for it was dead (on their own page!).
Another different vendor has the worst documentation I've seen in a long time. It uses the old 'help' documentation look and feel, think the built in Windows 98 help. They have been "updating" the documentation for the better part of 3 years. But for the life of me I haven't see any changes except for the images of the system UI. The language doesn't always match the new interface!

So in the GDPR laws apparently it states that you have the right to request all data that a company or institute keeps of you.
I wonder if you could request your password as saved in the database. If they send it to you in clear text, you might want to close your account

For all data they are obliged to give it to you as far as I know.
You could even ask for every detail why they keep it and how long and on top of that you have to right to have it removed if it is not related to their business.

At least in the US we have the Do Not Call list. So for cold call companies, you can request that they no longer contact you and they must comply. Sadly you can't ask them to remove you from their system like the GDPR.
Many claim that it takes time to update the system and you may get additional calls for the next few weeks. This is usually a lie to cover their rear ends. Having seen a few of these systems, the update is usually done right away and pushed out to other sites same day. The problem occurs when one of those other sites doesn't update their DNC data routinely.

To be honest, I wouldn't care about them having my data as long as they stop calling me!
Although I don't recall having a single call to my mobile since GDPR... even my friends are too scared to call me

Unless you had your phone disconnected, or were out of the country for a year or two, you would know that the Do Not Call List is of absolutely no use any more. It really is a consequence of VOIP - and they spoof the 'FROM' if you have caller ID to try to get you to pick up after they get through the "no private calls" filter.
Also, they employ robo-calls (illegal) and call cell-phone (illegal). They really don't give a damn. They don't have to.

I dunno, I haven't had a real problem with spam callers. Maybe one a month, max two. Which I'm sure will change now that I mentioned it.
But yes, I agree on the spoofing and robo-calls being problematic. During the most recent presidential election cycle I was getting calls from a particular campaign that didn't make it through the primaries at the rate of three or four a day, even after allowed hours. It was on my cell... but of course since politicians wrote the bill they did exempt themselves from portions of the the Do Not Call list. I believe they got around the "robo-dial" rule by having the person doing the calling press a button labeled "Call Next Person" and claimed that because of that it wasn't a true robo-dialer.

In my area, it's more like 10-20, day. Many scammers. Occasionally, once per half-hour from the same robo-caller (I have to have my carrier block them). Most people don't answser their phones anymore until they here who it is (if unless it the common hang-up caller).
With the fake credentials and spoofing of other (real people) numbers, there's no solution in sight. Unless I find out where there based - and then . . .

Yeah. When I get one of these calls (about three times a day) I press 1 to talk to a representative and then put the phone aside and let them cry feebly for my attention for a while. Alternatively, just as they start talking, I say, "Hang on a minute, I have a call on the other line." and then put them on hold until they hang up.
I see it as a public service to use up their time so as to reduce the instance of them bothering someone else. I have unlimited minutes and few genuine calls so it isn't any bother for me.

I had a hangup call to my cell, the number was local so I called it back. The person who answered was a private investigator who said he didn't call me, but said he'd had a rash of similar calls, his business phone number was being spoofed by some business. He asked if I would note the next time I got a call from that number and try to talk the person who called. So I saved the number as a contact, That Private Eye, nothing for a good while and then I got a call, the ID said That Private Eye. I answered and found out it was "Card Member Services". Told the rep that they were spoofing a legitimate business. The rep couldn't believe that I was calling him out on it and that I would help a stranger, started throwing out ![Elephant | [mastadon]](https://codeproject.freetls.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/elephant.gif) and ![Sunshine | [little ray of sunshine]](https://codeproject.freetls.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/sunshine.gif) language at me.
Hung up and let the PI know who was using his number.

The only way I've discovered to get off these call lists is to be sexually explicitly rude to them, every single time. What happens is your number will get flagged as obnoxious and as they sell their lists back and forth you will over time start receiving fewer and fewer calls.

I've tried that - said some things most foul - usually a hangup. On occasion, they even made such comments back.
For the scammers - if I answer (and press 1 to talk to an agent) I very politely explain to them that the world would really be a better place if they died. They spend their time hurting people, so without them, things would be better. If they're still there, I'll add, 'so I mean it with all sincerity, please do the world a favor and die'.
Odd - I've amazingly good control over the spammers, aside from the ones that hijack an email list and send those stupid 2-line messaged with the link. But on the phone, they just don't seem to take the hint.

Quite true. I live in the US, and get these robocalls and spammers almost everyday, sometimes more than once per day. They spoof the number - even got a call once from my own number!
I set the bad calling numbers to be blocked on my personal and work cell phones (I do not use a home phone).
I'd love for the appropriate Federal authority to have a couple of "special ops" teams comprised of former Marines to track down, arrest, and swiftly bring to trial some of these perps. But, that takes Congressional action, which means anything that affects campaign donations by these spammers won't happen.
