But I need some recommendations on BOOKS
I don't really read books, never have, except for The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide, Harry Potter and LOTR.
However, I recently discovered Audible[^], an Amazon service for buying and listening audio books.
Since I still have a huge commute of over an hour, single trip, traffic not included, I decided to give it a go.
I prefer self development books like Think and Grow Rich, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and How to Win Friends & Influence People (because that way I'll learn while commuting).
I also have Kenn Follett's The Pillars of the Earth on my wish list because I really liked the TV series

Never heard of this book or this author.
I googled the guy, but he seems like a real d-bag with all his knowledge and experience and good looks.
But if you recommend it to me I'll give it a try though

For almost 20 years i had a 45 minute commute (one way). Got a speeding ticket in the first 5 years and I turned to audio books ( on cassettes before audible) and I have now listened to over 200 books. I have listened to things I would've never otherwise read.
98% have been nonfiction.
Here's my #1 knock-down all-time favorite and it is a weird book but there is so much in it that I have listened to it 8 times.
Linchpin by Seth Godin (Audible)
It is about how business really works. It exposes so much and will make you think about it all differently.
I've listened to numerous books about how the brain works and they really help you understand how people think and how we are all different.
One that particularly stands out is about memory and how it works:
Moonwalking With Einstein Audible
It is a gripping narrative about the author's quest to win the Annual National Memory contest which includes things like memorizing 3 decks of cards in 3 minutes.
And one that will teach you amazing stuff about how your brain works is
Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain Audible Audiobook
Some of the stuff you will learn about the way brains work will spook you. Amazing.
You cannot go wrong with any of those. And I have at least 20 more solid recommendations.

you know "hate" is such a strong word, these days almost considered un-PC, but anyway
reading is fine, still can't get into e-reading (particularly technical books), I find it difficult to 'flip' back to previous sections to refer to something written earlier - using a slider moves the pages too fast (and if it's some sort of logarithmic slider no proper feel for how far I am along), page-up/downing-ing too slow, and word searching doesn't cut it when I know sort-of how far along in the book what I'm looking for is by thickness rather than page number.
Anyway unless you read almost all day everyday a real book (even better if 2nd hand) is more environmentally friendly than an e-reader, and lately recognised as better for your eyes (health) too.
This internet thing is amazing! Letting people use it: worst idea ever!

I really miss ctrl+f in print books sometimes.
When I'm on vacation I usually read a print book, last one was about one and a half LOTR book

Maybe Elon Musk can help you with that problem. You obviously need to be taking the high-speed tunnel system to your office. Maybe we can get an ejection seat installed and shoot you directly into the office while you are sitting in the chair.
