Well I got to work to a power cut which took 2 hours to resolve (well maybe as they the electric company are sending a ground crew to see what the fault is) and potentially we could lose power to the office for up to 2 days.
Good thing you say? nah I'd then have to go home don the DIY outfit and fix things with small children trying to help and then she'll moan as a 5 minute job could take a an hour etc etc.
Every day, thousands of innocent plants are killed by vegetarians.

Get the company to hire a generator: think of the amount of work they will lose without electricity - the telephone exchange won't work, customer order will build up, ... And it's going to get seriously cold, according to the news.
Mind you, round here the electricity company turns up with BIG generators and plumbs them in while they fix the problem, if it's going to take that long.

We have a Disaster Recovery site (the fun on having a multi national parent company) for these kind of situations but application development are then not considered critical so we are sent home in these situations.

Herself kept apologising for "Ruining my birthday" but as I said - if I'd been 8YO, then yes, it would have been ruined. As it was, I didn't get to eat what I wanted - not a major problem, the steaks are in the freezer and I'd eat 'em when she's better. The cat poo I could have lived without...

Hi All,
I am testing some code in a new version of an old product. It has suddenly started to pass a test it shouldn't. Time to dig deeper or time to report it and pass it on? I'm think its time to go deeper but am not sure?

I'd dig deeper - sound like the test is faulty, and that could impact current equipment.
