Aspie Software is just the name of the company. The program is meant for high to middle functioning autistic people. I don't think the program would help low functioning autistic people but it may once I get it done.

The site will be for high functioning autistic's. I have a real problem with both verbal and written communication and this was something I am going to use. Figured I wouldn't be the only one that would benefit from it. I know you took back the comment but just wanted to reply.

The wife is making noises like she wants to get a new TV. We already have a 65-inch Sharp Aquos LED TV that's six-seven years old, and she wants a 75-inch.
We've eliminated the QLED sets because they're way too expensive, but have established that we want HDR.
With that info, can anyone here comment of their own TV in that same class (75-inch with HDR)?
I honestly have no idea which brand is decent anymore. BTW, we're buying ceiling is hard-set at $2500.

I forgot to mention that we run all of our stuff through a home theater receiver with 5.1 speakers, and have a separate DVD player, cable box, and media center PC devices. The PC is connected to the network/internet. We don't really need a "smart" TV because we have the PC. The sound quality and "smartness" durability of the TV itself is kinda moot because of the above. We'll be treating it like a glorified monitor.

I'm on my second LG - not that big, we can only fit a 42" in without blocking the window - and I've not had problems with them. Good features, good picture, and good connectivity (although you need a soundbar; as with all "thin" TV's the speakers are crap).

The Sony A1E has moved the benchmark there - the screen IS the speaker and it sounds really good.

Don't let apps dictate your TV purchasing choices. They're all crap.
But if you do care about apps, stay away from Sony, as they're known to remove some without any notice. Not that I'd personally ever recommend anyone buy anything from Sony.

Outside of Samsung, LG, Sony, and -maybe- Sharp, every brand is pretty much the same components with a different label slapped on it.
I recently picked up a 65-inch Sony Bravia, 4K, HDR, etc., and am very pleased with it. Their 75-inch are under your hard ceiling price.

Here's a warning about getting a Samsung smart TV. They stop updating the OS after 3-ish years so unless you have an external smart device like Roku, the smartness of your TV is limited to about 3 years.

I prefer to use the intelligence of a DVD player and let the TV be a "dumb" monitor. That's because of how my various audio sources are connected with the receiver. Plus, if the DVD player is out of date I can replace it easily and inexpensively.

Yeah, that works, especially if the DVD player has apps for YouTube, Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Currently at my mother-in-law's house; added Hulu and Amazon to her Wii.
And, watching DS9 via Hulu... as long as it works, I'm happy.

I agree strongly with this.
Newest TV I have includes 'smart' and I find it irritating and useless. And that with a new TV. The interface it intended to up sell products like pay for movies and consequently makes it harder to get to the content that I am already paying for.
With external devices I can always switch to something else.

A friend of mine just bought a beamer and is in love with it. AFAIK with 2500$ you might get a nice one.
I personally am very happy with my Samsung from 2013, used "un-smart" (laptop pluged to TV as smart part)

I've been using projectors for about a dozen years, and I've never heard anyone refer to a projector as a "beamer"...though I suppose I can see why.
|

It was a common term at the last job I worked. Perhaps it was the Swiss/German influence.
