If you want to make money with bitcoin now, you're better of trading it. Although, I'd be watch the market like a hawk if so to ensure the rally isn't over with. Profit-wise you buy low and sell high, not buy high after the spikes.

I took a good look at mining; either bitcoin or etherium, litecoin, dash etc., etc. Given the cost of electric where I live (around 18c per KWh) and the cost of the kit to do the mining, it wasn't worth it at the scale I could afford to do it. One of the issues is that if you build your own rig, the cost of video cards has gone through the roof. If you buy kit, the noise and heat it produces means you would have to devote a room to it and ensure that it is properly vented. All costs money. Even running 24/7 I would not have made enough in a year to make it worth while and that doesn't take into account when the networks change the level of difficulty.

I am giving Ether mining a spin. Started like yesterday.
Everyone advises against CPU mining, but I see it as a learning experience, and fun. My 12 3.2GHz cores are hungry for food. On all fora ppl say that the Go implementation is a piece of Elephant. But on github there is zero activity on the C++ implementation and a lot on the Go one...
And if you have Ether mining experience I am happy to hear it.

Electricity here in Sweden is at 0.043 EUR/kWh. My machine consumes approx 1kW.
It does not work out at all so far, since the software insists on crashing twice a day. : p I need to research better tools.
The mining output is zero, so the cost mathematically speaking is infinite per Ether. But I might post news on my progress, if any.

No, it's not; we use equal energy to extract any kind of commodity, be it gold, oil or wood. If people are mining, that just means that energy is cheaper than the bitcoin - hence, profit.

Today, I actually decided to revisit the beans after a break of 3 years.......don't know why, but I just did.
And had absolutely no joy getting them to work with either Windows10, IOS or Android to update the Day 1 firmware to the latest, using the standard BeanLoaders. I remembered when I first played with these many years back that I had connected to them using a TinyUSB, but couldn't remember how or any of the commands. This was necessary because the Dev team didn't have anything other than IOS support at the time.
Fortunately, I had put it all in an article when I was experimenting all those years back.....LightBlue Beans - Magic Beans and no beans[talk]?
Tomorrow, if I can find some jumper wires, I am going to see if I can get these puppies blinking...finger's crossed!

Worse is when I google how to do something and one of the top hits is my own article!
I need to start writing short tips on web development, as I'm constantly forgetting and relearning things. Either that or pay a shrink a few thousand dollars to adjust my psyche, which clearly wants to forget everything I learn about web development (that means YOU, Javascript / HTML / CSS / MVC/MVM).

I honestly though that was what tips and tricks was for, I started putting in 1-2 liners that I would refer back to. Alas it turned into a mini article arena where my simple tips are an embarrassment.
I refer back to my pivot article regularly, also many others that are bookmarked.

You realise they probably log connections to them and will add it to their list of sites to attack.
