I appreciate the sentiments but if you feel this strongly about it then why not mention it on the page the competition was first announced? With competitions it's more about steering people's ideas in a certain direction to think about things they may not have thought about before than trying to find the perfect solution for a given problem. I'm open to having a range of competitions to find the best article on a given topic, but that simply wasn't the goal here - hence the time limit.

With regards to Oz's entry it did include new functionality so was included. With the VS6 entry that was simply a search filter being too keen and me being too blurry eyed. It's been removed.

Just to prove that this is more about having fun than being organised I've added a late entry from an eager programmer who has been hassling me all morning to accept his (extremely late) entry.

Oh - and Rama Krishna automatically wins a T-shirt for being a legend.
