I have alway lusted after the PRS Bass they made for 10 minutes, I have seen two, one in a store that was selling it for the price of a small London flat & the other with the Bass player Andy Frost (of the Phil Hilbourne band), looked cool just a bigger version of the PRS body and a slim jazz style neck...

Self-driving mistrust aside "[said vehicle] operates on a 0.6-mile loop around downtown Las Vegas..." so without using my fingers I figure the longest distance from any origin to a destination would be 0.3 miles, and as far as I remember its almost completely flat too.
Is it any wonder nowadays people are literaly laterally getting so much larger?
Oh, and this is in Vegas why is there no slot machine installed??

Having carried my luggage through several rail stations just last week, this may actually be a nice service and not so lazy. When you are travelling, it's going to be a stressy day without any additional exercises.
That said, there is no way I will ever voluntarily get into such a car. What an irony if my death certivicate would state crappy code and software bug as cause of death. That AI stuff is even worse. How do you test an AI? That thing keeps rewiring its logic and most developers are stressed when they have to come up with meaningful test cases for a simple method. Even if you stop it from learning further, the test scenarios for the AI would still be far too complex and the practical tests are far too little to give me any confidence.

That reminds me of a story that Steve McConnell told at a conference I was at.
He was at an software conference and asked the audience 'If your company wrote the control code for the plane you flew here on - how many of you would be willing to get on the plane?'
Only one guy held up his hand. So he asked him why he was so confident in his companies code.
The guy replied - "If my company wrote the code I am sure the plane wouldn't be able to leave the gate!"
All that being said - self driving cars are coming - faster sooner than I thought they would.
And the vehicle in question wasn't moving when it was struck by another vehicle. So not really the fault of the programmers this time.
I'm pretty sure I would not like to live in a world in which I would never be offended.

Acknowledging contributions
You spend so much time thinking deeper, what might be needed in your product soon (A feature, or a set of features). Analyse it, write about it and share it with your bosses/ directors. They , for sure not caring to read it fully, reply back with a standard "Great thoughts Bob!" type replies.
And several months later, they call the teams up for a meeting and when they run the PPT or while explaining something. They quote a "Flash news" of a competitor company and say, "What a beautiful, critical feature they've done & they are in the news".
I get no words fit enough to vent my anger. I would quickly try to find the nearest help[^]
This has happened too many times. And the last time it happened, I had to punch above my weight. I requested for a meeting with the director and I started politely asking Why is this repeatedly happening. Failing to acknowledge an idea, that too shared well in advance , before even the competitors could think of.
It feels so sick. He doesn't even acknowledge that *we* had thought about this before. (at least a we)
And he simply admires heaping praises for the competitors "good job", a "disruptive idea", the same thing he might have labelled it as "Impractical idea" when I suggested.
I conveyed my frustrations clear. Now he's saying , "Mate, it's all a team work, why are you so specific in claiming a credit, you have to be magnanimous".
What a total piss off. Just one simple feature he suggested/added to the product, years back. Even today he's quoting it in all his meetings. But no matter how big an idea is, when others suggested he doesn't recognize or recollect who shared it.
Please note - It's not about claiming the credit. It's about destroying basic facts. Not respecting the contributors time & effort.
Okay we got all that IP/Idea management tools. Nobody cares to read them there. Whenever something happening like this, I'm just using these tools to pick my original ideas links and share it with team to let them know there's nothing new in the Flash news.
I was thinking if I should simply ignore it and keep going.
Starting to think people post kid pics in their profiles because that was the last time they were cute - Jeremy Falcon.

I think you should ignore it or change the company. Your manager is speaking about "team work" and mean his team, so you are only are "gear wheel" of the company and acknowledgements and developments are really limited. I must confess that have accepted a similar role for some convenience like regular working times and good salary, but we have a better culture than you.
Consider lookinf for a better job if you are free to change. Go ahead and find some better mates and managers. You live only once.

I worked with a development manager like that once, we, the developers, would strategise how we could get him to take ownership of a new idea when we wanted it implemented. It worked rather well, if you wanted to kill an idea present it as your own, to get it through get him to present it as his idea.

Problem is you write about it, directors aren't going to bother reading it, they just don't.

Yes of course, because they saw this.
Show a director or other high level something, you've got maximum 10 seconds, probably less to make your case. A fancy written report will fail, every time.
show a picture if you can, if it's words use as few as possible, your idea has 10 (plan for 5) seconds to sell itself.
