I like reading books that make me think differently about things.
I like business books and I like books that talk about what it's like to try to create new things and specifically new software. I'm also interested in what sparks interest in people. For those reasons I really like this book by Jason Fried from 37Signals.com (now Basecamp -- project management software).

It has some great stuff like:

A phone interview and a face-to-face or Skype interview. After that, they're paying me for my time.

I certainly wouldn't let it get to six interviews. 2 or 3 Maybe. After that I'd tell them to decide or cancel me.

I've got 32 years experience. I don't need multiple interviews. When I'm looking for work I always have 2 or 3 companies I'm interviewing with. If it takes more than 2 then I assume something's wrong.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
Everything makes sense in someone's mind.
