This is it. I will be doing some C++ (Arduino) and Python (Raspberry Pi).
Some people flamed me for saying I didn't have time for some of those new programming management fads. They said I should work my ten hour days and then go home and study. Get a life. That is not me flaming back. It is an old man telling you that if all you have is work you really do need to get a life. You will not look back and say, "I wish I had spent more of my off hours trying to learn something that did not last a whole year." Even the great "Agile" is seldom implemented as the creators intended.
I was ordered to do Dot Net and that's what I had to do. So love it or hate it that's what I got paid to do. I did do some study on my own. I found classes to be useless. Mostly learning on the fly, and Google as needed got me through.
Luck with it code geeks.

And don't forget to tell them where they can put all their rules, conventions, best practices and all the rest. For the revolution!
C++ sounds good. I'm coming.

In over 25 years of programming myself, I have never ever met a dev to who spent too much time behind a computer that was actually a happy person. It's about balance. So, rock on man.

Both Arduino and Raspberry Pi are great platforms.
Good luck with your future endeavors.

But I suddenly found out that all those elephant'ing emoticons you guys post are wearing out my monitor.
Don't, however, flame me on this (pages full of them envisioned). I'm merely the messenger. You can trace the seeds of this (implied) concept back to its source[^], and carry on from there.

UKS = United Kingdom Safe:
Came across in the Wikipedia, quite by accident. Quote: The idea of frying fish in the stereotypically British fish and chips, for example, was introduced to Britain by Sephardic Jewish immigrants.[4]
The [4] references a 2003 article in The Guardian by someone named Jay Raynor.
And I thought things were bad when I found out that French American fries were . . .neither

He's a food critic - not a bad one, except (like all his breed) he's rather fuller of himself than he is of ability to cook the food he berates or praises.
