So yesterday I received a call that the Canadian Revenue Agency is going to arrest me if I don't pay 4800 dollars.

Actually the guy I talked to said his name is Eric Martin. What amazes me it is a regular phone number from Ottawa, open to every policeman to just call to verify they are scammers.
Yet still they operate without any authority taking any measures.. The only thing you can do is troll them like this epic call:

This guy wrote an automated process to continue calling the scammers' numbers until they stopped scamming people. He would shut the system down for a while until the scammers got new numbers.
Really funny.
When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others.
Same thing when you are stupid.

Examining the open source Atom editor.
It's an interesting idea that the entire thing is written in JavaScript, but it doesn't feel like they picked the correct tool to write it in. Just seems like an exercise to see if it is possible.
However, it is pretty cool that the thing is cross-platform -- obviously JS makes that very possible.
JS syntax is so stringy.

If you consider a webbrowser to be a platform, yes.
Since webbrowsers do not boot, it is not cross-OS. Your OS would need to come with a browser that supports said JavaScript, making it as cross-platform as GWBASIC.

This editor is a standalone project that runs in Node.js (on V8 I believe) and doesn't require a browser.
There are native installs for macOS, Windows and Linux.

The browser is bundled with these types of applications.
Not that that is necessarily a good thing. Complaints abound of bloat for all these Electron apps.

So I made a web based document uploading application. Prior to this the users had been using that atrocity, Confluence, for this purpose. At the end of this example, I note what it all comes down to.
They had three fields:
BROWSE (button: pick a file),
CAPTION a text field for a friendly name for the file for presentation to those who might read it.
DEPT the visibility: all viewers or limit to a single department.
Built in, behind the scenes, was a handler for checking for a duplicate file and forcing it to an update (serializing old information as an archive).
That was too hard. The had me use the file name and create a description from that (which is, in general, crap), and preset to their own department.
That was too hard. The had me add an update button to the view/display component so everything is pre-done except the selecting the file for upload, serializing, but replacing the old file with the new (and allowing editing of fields which are now pre-loaded with previous values).
I noted that one could now select a file for update, and change their mind, overlaying one reference with totally wrong data. Still. That's what they wanted. (The original would only replace if file-names matched).
OK - now there's nothing left to do but pick the file from your computer.
Everything else was optional and done for you.
In the AM, sure enough, the user elephanted it up with the only error route left, overlaying and wiping out an existing from an unrelated posting.
So, here's what I've discerned about our profession:
You need to code until you reach the lowest common denominator.
Then you need to keep going.

You are doing it wrong. Users take everything the computer tells them at face value while never believing anything you say. Especially scareware makes users perfectly manageable. Just add a few message boxes with the right texts and they come and beg for exactly those things you could not sell them.
I need a perfect, to the point answer as I am not aware of this.
Please don't reply explaining what method overloading is

An alternate view on your take:
They'll pay for a Windows Upgrade - with everything re-arranged and messed up - and just "deal with it". But our in-house stuff? Perish the thought anything is changed! Torches and pitch forks!
The older method was much more difficult than my base-method and quite unfriendly. Maybe I should have made it more difficult.
But - I do, for different purposes - practice a degree of social engineering on the users. What's incredible is that it's in their interest as much, or more, than in mine.

Of course they do. That's what they have been conditioned to do. They have been promised eternal torture and damnation by marketing if they don't. Isn't it a miracle how every current Windows version is better and more secure than all the predecessors (which claimed to be the same when they were new)? Scareware at its best. The guys who want to save us from a threat have done their best to help this threat to become one. The only more obvious thing they could do, would be to exploit vulnerabilities themselves every time the hackers don't find them quickly enough.
I need a perfect, to the point answer as I am not aware of this.

Okay that's a serious question. My wife feels I'm too old to play computer games and I'm wasting time, *irresponsibly*.
I want to know , if 35 years old is too old for games? Anybody older than me here playing PC/Xbox games at home? & Have you ever managed to convince your wife to give you company for a multi-player game?
If so, what game was that & how did that happen? 
Starting to think people post kid pics in their profiles because that was the last time they were cute - Jeremy Falcon.

Doom II. She played it so much (as did I) that I had to buy two identical computers so I wouldn't have an edge at all.
Then I creamed her for an hour. She was terrible. Just stood there and shot at me while I straffed round her in circles ... Tried to teach her, but she never really got the idea, even when I let her have the rocket launcher and me just bare hands. I still beat her.
She never played against me again. 
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
