Nice thought but take the minimum possible until you have the lie of the land. Taking the bass in to impress the boss is, quite frankly, a little creepy.

Well I wasn't taking it to impress the Boss, I was taking it because I needed to return it to its owner. But you have a point.

It's probably I know it's just me, but I've never brought personal items from home to the office. The way I see it, if I need something to do my job, my employer provides it, otherwise it's not needed for my job and therefore can stay at home.
I've had some coworkers remark that other than a few papers, my desk was pretty much bare - no knick-knacks (waste of space), no family photos (I know what they all look like and I'm not likely to forget over a period of a workday), no wall calendar (my computer has one), etc. I've always figured if I ever get fired or I just need to outright quit (neither of which has ever happened in my 20+ year career), I can practically walk out the door with nothing in my hands other than my car keys.

True good idea, but I tended to need to use some electronics tools, screw drivers, twezzers and the like. Some people get enraged if you use there twezzers( )

I bring enough to fit in a one-gallon zip-lock bag; a photo of my kids, a Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1, cheap headphones and a fork (never know when they'll run out of plastic forks in the lunchroom.) I can pack and leave in a minute.
I've been laid off a silly number of times and it works well. It also works well when switching offices.

Don't take too much, you may have to carry it around all day if your new company has a big orientation plan. Mine took three days although they let me off one day as I wasn't actually a nurse (I work at a hospital).
Congratulations and good luck.

Mention you play air drums.

"Free nan deal oddly used in cooking." (6)
2 hours in and no takers, so here's clue 1 - there are no anagrams involved.
Clue 2 - the answer is a specific plant.
Should be quite easy I think. Apparently more difficult than I thought, so good luck.

That's what I thought about yesterdays...
Do you mean "Naan" rather than "Nan" by the way? I'm stumped either way, but ...
