...usually is quite ok when you don't want to read every single bit. Today this abosolutely boring snippet of news caught my attention at least three times:
"Google’s Polymer zeroes in on ES6 compatibility, interoperability"
The first time around I really read the caption and dismissed it as boring. After that I just skimmed over it and every time this [^] comes into my mind. Obviously some subprocessor is trying to be a little creative with 'Google Polymer'.

And one from the ground, for good measure
Sudden Sun Death Syndrome (SSDS) is a very real concern which we should be raising awareness of. 156 billion suns die every year before they're just 1 billion years old.

Why? It's current affairs. It's a news story happening now. Please explain why it's soapbox?

Our concern for the victims is profound. This is not the place to ventilate one's own opinions and provoke argument.

You just explained why. Take it to the SoapBox.

I'm just reporting an event. People who might not know about it will see it here, they are less likely to see it in the soapbox. A similar post I made just after the Westminster attack got moved to the soapbox yet there was another thread in the lounge the very next day that didn't.
I've said nothing inflammatory unless you have an issue with the phrase religion of peace.

Even better, take it to facebook (as you said you prefer fb and hardly ever come here.)
oh I know, you got completely fb unfriended, again.

Yawn. Is this the third or fourth time you've said this? Never actually said that though either.

You see, there you go with the perfect reason to move this to the Soapbox Pom Pey: I'll wager you I'm right. What you staking? So the deaths of 22 people is the subject of a wager now? I find that more offensive than the discussion of any religion.

Pom Pey wrote: Please explain why it's soapbox? Point #5 here[^] reads: For those discussions where you wish to be a little more frank, use the Soapbox[^].
I'd suspect that a lot of people would want to be quite frank while discussing this topic.
What you have posted may or may not be soapbox material (my opinion, like many others' is that it is, but that could sure be debated). But this topic will incite further debates that will inevitably include politics and religion, and that cannot be debated or refuted.
That is good enough a reason for this post to be qualified as soapbox material.

Why? It has got 'religion' in the title.
|
|
|
|
|
To be fair, I've seen 'religion' mentioned in titles (and articles) before in the Lounge. I suspect that there's a degree of 'sensitivity' towards some religions which isn't required for others though..?
Now is it bad enough that you let somebody else kick your butts without you trying to do it to each other? Now if we're all talking about the same man, and I think we are... it appears he's got a rather growing collection of our bikes.
