Hello,

whats the fastest formula/algorithm to determine if a number is a power of 2?

It's easy to check this in a while loop shifting the number 1 to the right and checking if it is 1, but perhaps there is a faster method?

Having done a lot of embedded programming, I guess I've learnt a few things like that - every clock cycle is precious Wink | ;)

I have two audio devices and I want to change the default (preferred) Sound Playback device from within my program, so without using the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window from the control panel. Is there a function to do so?

i made a toolbar, that has a gradient effect (as in office2003) but now, the toolbaricons who are on the toolbar do not look cool on the gradientbackground, because they are not transparent!
that means i still see the gray color who surrounds the symbols. any idea how to solve this problem??? i really read a lot about the topic, but found no solution!
i also would manage to change this gray color to any other color (set it as background color)
but this does not help me, because my background has no fix color, its a gradient!

Have a look at this article:

Here you can define a RGB color which will be used as transparency mask.

hy, thanx for the link, unfortunately, when i compile this project and run it, the icons are not transparent, it looks excactly as in the project i worked.

i work with .NET2003 may this be the problem?

it was the maskcolor, now i changed it to RGB(192,192,192) and now it workes!

the code looks very complicated to me, isnt there a simpler solution for making a bitmap transparent?? i cant use this code!

HI Friends,
I am creating the Thread using CreateThread API. Also I have Message Loop inside the ThreadProc . But I dont know weather the Thread as message queue or not.It need to be created or it exists by default.

Every thread has a message queue, but you will only be able to use messages if you set up a message loop:

BOOL bRet;
MSG msg;
while((bRet = GetMessage(&msg, NULL, 0, 0)) != 0)
{

    {
        // handle the error and possibly exit
    }
    else
    {
        TranslateMessage(&msg);

TAPI and lineGenerateDigits

Hello,

I am trying to use the function lineGenerateDigits in order to send a sequence of number after the call is connected.
I call lineGenerateDigits and it's return code is 0. Then, my callback function recieves the message LINE_GENERATE, but the GenerateTermination parameter of this message is always LINEGENERATETERM_CANCEL. My program is waiting for this message so it is not possible that it is trying to generate another sequence of digits.
Any idea why my lineGenerateDigits fails?

From the docs:
"The digit or tone generation request was canceled by this application, by another application, or because the call terminated. This value can also be returned when digit or tone generation cannot be completed due to internal failure of the service provider."

Is your call to lineGenerateDigits() successful? (Does it return 0?). If so, then one of the conditions above has occurred (it's probably been cancelled by either your app or another app - do you have any other telephony apps running?). If not, then you've setup the call incorrectly somehow.

Thanks for the quick response.
The call to lineGenerateDigits was successfull. I am recording the call, so I can be sure that the call is still in progress. As far as I understand I can cancel the lineGenerateDigits by calling it again, which is something that I don't do (it is called only once, and I checked that this code is indeed executed only once). I also have no other telephony application running.
As for the last option, I guess that if I have set the call incorrectly it wouldn't have gotten connected (which I know is being done because I record it). Also, I compared my code with some other code examples that I found, and I couldn't find any significant differences...
Any other ideas?
Also, is there any way I can see what the problem was? Is there another way to generate digits?
