Then I will ask you to create a new thread on the forum RedDk provided as this post (and topic) are irrelevant to Lounge and off-topic.

It wasn't a programming question so what's the problem?

- Can't be answered with a smiley.
- Can't be answered with a "Press that button, you're done".
- Can't be answered with a "I did the same, here is what I wrote, {URL to a tip/trick}".
- Can't be answered unless knowing what went wrong.
- Can be solved with a proper discussion, which is provided somewhere else and not on Lounge. Besides, can you image OG giving a proper answer? Guy can't keep himself from using the " " emoji which violates my rule 1.
I did try to help him here in a simple URL, but the problem was technical as it worked in previous versions but didn't in VS2015 so I think we need a proper look up to the problem. I didn't mean to push him there, it's just, the proper discussion can only be continued on that forum.

1: Everything can ne answered with a smiley.
2: What can?
3: Yes it can.
4: "My car broke down". I can answer that with call the AAA. smiley -->
5: I don't mind discussing stuff here as long as it is not a homework question. Who made you the arbiter of the lounge?
Just chill, dude. Just because you're tired of the question or don't like the question, doesn't give you the right or authority to shut it down.

I'm staying at a hotel doing some work for a client. There's a fire burning fairly close. When I went to bed last night it was at 1400 acres. Got up an hour ago and it's at 4000 acres. It's out of control. Luckily it's burning in an uninhabited area - for now.
If you look at this article[^] and scroll down a bit there is a graphic showing the fire area. If you zoom in you'll see the town of Isla Vista. There's an airport there. I'm staying just north east of the airport. Drive time to the fire would be 20 minutes or so.
Very smokey outside Gotta keep an eye on this one.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

If you do C# programming, do you make a point of changing that line in AssemblyInfo.cs ?
(Possibly related to other languages too.)
Same with AssemblyCompany in said file.

Oh yes.
And I keep the copyright date up to date as well...

Of course, even if it's only for the audacity to claim the copyright to my work.

Maybe that is the idea: The MS copyright is just a placeholder that you are supposed to replace with your own?

Simply edit AssemblyInfo.cs
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

Not necessary. If the VS product is licensed to the Company, the company name automatically reflected to in every project. i.e
[assembly: AssemblyCompany("CompanyName")]
[assembly: AssemblyCopyright("Copyright © CompanyName 2016")]

Yep. Our automated build process updates that, all of the version directives, the copyright year, plus inserts the build date/time in the AssemblyDescription .

Yes, either through the property page or, more usually, by editing assembly.cs directly.

If I have more than 1 project in a solution I'll use a GlobalAssemblyInfo file for common information and a local AssemblyInfo for project specific info.

- Open Regedit;
- Navigate to
HKLM\Software(\WOW6432Node)\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion ; - Create or change the
REG_SZ value called RegisteredOrganization to something more sensible;
Now all future projects created on that computer will have the correct company name in both attributes.
Depending on the version of Visual Studio, you might need to make some other registry changes if you want the splash screen to display the correct company:
