I browsed through them and watched a few vids from youtube. I'm wondering if it can "replace" wpf or not.

It looks like it has promise. Easy enough to use, creating a templated "List view" and populating it with data in a few minutes without code is tempting. Too bad the current beta release doesn't support importing data from MySQL. I could be wrong though, I haven't given it a try, only watched a few youtube vids.

Indeed, but again, why would you wonder if it could replace WPF? It's not really the type of tooling you would look to use to create a desktop application - a UWP app perhaps, but not a desktop one.

I happen to work in a full windows 10 environment. Though wpf is undeniably the better option in a windows 7 or older environment, i haven't notice the advantage of desktop applications over UWP apps in windows 8.1 and above environment. Though, until it can support sql data, it wouldn't be useful

Funnily enough, I also develop WPF apps for W10 - and being part of the team that technically evaluates MS platforms out in the wild, there are still things you can do in WPF that just aren't technically possible in UWP. For instance, we have apps that tear out into multiple windows to go across multiple monitors - this just doesn't work in UWP. Oh, and it's a lot easier to deploy a WPF application. From a pure coding side, there are still areas of developing XAML apps that just don't map back to the fuller feature set you get from WPF - custom MarkupExtension classes, for instance.
Plus, for me, being able to deploy to more clients is a huge win. With WPF I can target both W8/8.1 and 10, as well as Windows 7. UWP apps - well, that would be cutting off the people who matter the most - clients. Don't get me wrong, there are features I would love to see make the journey from UWP back to WPF, x:Bind, but that doesn't sell it as a platform to me. While UWP is still feature deficient, I'm not putting any eggs in that basket.

This seems to be one of your very first posts', and I'm going to vote abuse. Welcome to the Lounge 
EasyHook required some assemblies that can be identified with an MD5 and could be rejected from the network. The alternative is to duplicate what they provide and still be rejected from the network.
Unless you got some very convincing reasons to do so, no one is going to let you muck with their drives.

Hi,
Use this site's "search for articles, questions, tips", and narrow to Articles, for "EasyHook" then try downloading some of the code, compile it, run the executables, debug with breaks, learn what these authors here at CP might have to say about how they've gone about using it, etc.
Really programming questions are not a Lounge thing though.

Anyway, we're doing fsharpConf again this year (see fsharpconf.com) and I managed to remember that I saw it back in 2016 on CodeProject, which was awesome (thanks so much for sharing it with all the CPians) and I was wondering if we could make the same thing happen again this year...
And as I was trying to find out if my memory is right, I came across this 2 year old thread and remember all the good times with CodeProject back in the days  !

Hi Chris,
fyi: I don't find any link to the Conference on CP's home page (no ad-blocker running, site filter set to 'All). Finding the live stream was disturbingly difficult: I started by going to the F# Foundation's home page: no information. So searched on "F# Conferences: that led me to Lanyard.something, where I did, finally, locate a link to "fsharconf:" which had links to various sessions that were not available, but that finally led me to MSDN Channel 9 where a live stream is.
Was all this a test to find out if I am worthy of being admitted to the mysteries of F# ?
