NewsMS Edge actually is catching up to the competition in HTML5 support. Pin

I haven't seen any mention of it elsewhere, but when I looked athtml 5 test[^] a few minutes ago, I saw something called "Edge 13"; a bit of Googling turned up that it was the new version of Edge that came out with the November W10 update. What's interesting is that it's score of 453 is a big step up from the RTM versions 402 and almost as high as Firefox's 467.

When Edge first came out it's HTML5 support was about 1.5 years behind Firefoxes and 2.5 years behind Chromes. Edge13 scores between FF37 (March 2015) and FF38 (April 2015); meaning they caught up to within about half a year. They're about half a year closer to catching up on Chrome as well, scoring between V31 (nov 13) and 32 (jan 14).

At the time it came out I was wondering if MS's talk about catching up was serious or if they were content to keep lagging the competition by about 2 years like they IIRC did with IE 10 and 11 at launch and then fall behind for a long time before trying to catch up again. At least for their first Edge update their catchup rate appears to be roughly 2:1. If they can keep their momentum going, they'll probably overtake FF with the version of Edge that ships with the first W10 Redstone update midyear, and be very close to Chrome after the 2nd one in the fall. They're already well ahead of Safari; having caught up with it last July.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
