...for this[^]
It's been a long day and I slapped down some code while (literally) walking out o the office, eating, cleaning up, then just as I was about to give up for the day I decided what the hell: maybe it will compile. It didn't just compile. It worked. Perfectly. First time.
There's got to be a word for that feeling.

Compiled hell! WORKED FIRST TIME!
YOU DA MAN!
Decrease the belief in God, and you increase the numbers of those who wish to play at being God by being “society’s supervisors,” who deny the existence of divine standards, but are very serious about imposing their own standards on society.-Neal A. Maxwell
You must accept 1 of 2 basic premises: Either we are alone in the universe or we are not alone. Either way, the implications are staggering!-Wernher von Braun

I think a four-leaf clover is appropriate...
And you shouldn't get too full of yourself. I may look like it worked on the outside, but you never know what kind of side-effects have been introduced to the rest of the code.
".45 ACP - because shooting twice is just silly" - JSOP, 2010
- You can never have too much ammo - unless you're swimming, or on fire. - JSOP, 2010

VW is crucified as a scapegoat.
Most likely VW has manipulated the tests ... but the question remains, how much value have tests which can be manipulated that easy ... think about bench marks for cpu's were the one and the other cpu has been optimized especially for some of these tests! (yes cpu && Co2 has not that direct relation....(?))
In the latest news one discusses about some kg +- which is the input for test software, this compared to let us say a weight of 1500 kg where +15kg means 1%. This compared to a standardized "test" which is hard to justify in % how realistic it is.
No, I don't drive a VW but I think all the shout is unnecessary and artificiall.
Only my 0.01 Cents.
