Yesterday, my 10 year old daughter saw a calculator with SIN, COS, TAN functions.
She asked her mother what they were for; her mother deferred our daughter to me...
This could be an interesting conversation with her!

Moved in to my new digs last week.
Monday, 18 wheeler was in the parking lot.
The truck and trailer were just too big for the apartment complex.
The driver drove over the curb and smashed the bumper of my car.
Called insurance agent. They told me to call the cops and get a report.
Did that.
Cop asked me if I saw it in person; answer: no.
Cop says, no witness, no case.
The tracks in the landscaping (over the curb) are so obvious that nobody could deny who did it.
Folks at the apartment complex were able to identify the trucking company and the first name of the driver.
Time to take a loss ?
The car is sitting in the same place, untouched since the incident. I have a few pictures.
Haven't called the truck company at this time.

Your insurance agent/company should be contacting the trucking company, not you. They should also take care of fixing your car immediately, regardless of how it happened.

In France, cops are not allowed to refuse to take up claims, whatever it is. The insurance then intervenes, based on the police report.

Questions about the show:
0) By my estimation, they've been on "zombie time" for more than a year, yet we haven't seen any shows addressing winter weather, where things freeze solid for a week at a time. What's the deal in that regard? What would happen to the zombies in freezing weather? It seems to me that they would become unable to move because they have no functioning circulatory system to warm their bodies. It seems to me that they've demonstrated no sense of self-preservation beyond eating the living (humans and animals), they probably wouldn't seek out a place to keep warm, and since they have no real functioning circulatory system, huddling together would be like standing dead sticks against each other and would provide no protection against freezing. Even if it did, walking briskly past a group of huddled zombies would cause the group to disperse in order to chase you down, and they'd eventually freeze because they're fully exposed to the weather.
1) Do the zombies eventually starve to the point that they can't muster the energy to remain ambulatory? Wouldn't they eventually consume each other in that case. Since they're dead, even after being frozen, they'd thaw out and be even hungrier.
2) Is this a world-wide event? I don't see how even the new Fear the Waling Dead show could answer that question since it seems to me that communications have already broken down completely.
3) When are we going to find out what actually caused the zombie apocalypse?

One episode talked about the French doctors nearly figuring it out, but then they were overrun by zombies and eaten. This suggests that it's worldwide.

We haven't actually seen that on the show, though. I do recall hearing something regarding the Fear the Walking Dead show regarding their ambulatory speed being faster because they're freshly dead and not as "starving" as the ones on the original show.

In the UK 'Fear The Walking Dead' is on a separate channel from the 'Walking Dead'. The worst bit was the channel was not encrypted for the first episode but was subscription only after that. I was at my parents who had a satellite feed when the first episode was on so watched it there.
