Empty is the proper convention though, not only for built-in types but it's a convention you're supposed to use for your own types. How do you reference a non-defined Guid? Guid.Empty? Or..... 
As well as convention, string.Empty is static, whereas when you use "" you create a new instance of string (compiler optimisation aside), and we all know that memory alloc and dealloc is a major performance killer.

Ah, now I understood - you see, there is an unsurprisingly high number of places named like that in Italy, also here it is soon after lunch so my mind is waaay bogged down.
I ate a pizza once in a Bella Italia restaurant in London (can't remember which one though, some friends borught me there) and it was fairly good - very few "absolutely not pizza" and the pizza itself was very good, with a well made dough. Better than many pizzas I actually ate here in Italy!
