Notional plan is my laptop the 2nd weekend in August (let other people be first upgrade suckers), my spare desktop the weekend after, and my main desktop a few weeks to a few months later. The latter will Depend on how smoothly the upgrades go and on various internet trouble reports. DX12 will be a mandatory gaming feature, probably within a year; worst case if it looks rocky I'll probably wait until my standard 2 week leave burning event around xmas/new years.

To all who speculated on how pished I was on Saturday the correct answer was enough to handle my parents and the dreaded MIL.
I had a very relaxed birthday and now we are without children for a week so I have nothing to do but build a new staircase and redo the rendering outside our bedroom window. Oh, I might put up some shutters on the front upstairs windows if I can make some to fit.
Fun, wine, sun, wine, swimming, wine, building work and wine.

Just yous tries and stops me! The new stairs opens out the attic space which, subject to planning approval etcetera, will be turned into an additional very large bedroom for herself and meself that will have views out over the lake.
