How can I set font to a LOGFONT in WinCE ?
I'm using:

Here you are in the UNICODE realm! Use wcscpy instead.

Hi ,
A old AP project for ARM and MIPS cpu type.
But now, I must port this ap on a new CPU.
I installed the SDK for this CPU.
New a project is Ok, but load a old project and I can't select this cpu type. I use menu\build\configuration function can't add this cpu type still.
How to add new cpu type is correct?

Now, call me crazy, but I'd like to create a vertical toolbar. In fact, what I'd really like is two toolbars, with the first one running along the bottom of the window just like normal, and another one running vertically along the right side of screen (that is, where the scroll bar would normally be).
I saw Joao Paulo's article about multiple toolbars, which were very helpful. But does anyone have suggestions on the best way to add a vertical toolbar? Perhaps rebars, or some variant thereof?

I have been trying to make some embedded projects using this class but I'm findind some problems using it. First of all only creating an empty project and including I get link errors and also when I try to convert the class into a dll library. The error I get is:

I created a modeless dialog in WinCE. But it always is shown in fullscreen mode ! I can't see anything in my main window. And when I want to come back to my main window, I must choose it again in Start button.

I have a CDialog to validate the entrances into my application. But after pressing ok on my CDialog the application doesn´t "continue"... I have to enter the program again to continue...(on CWnd) What´s wrong...? Is it the CDialog?

I suppose your main window is not the dialog... Please show the code where you call the dialog.

i am creating and calling the cdialog in the CMainFrame::OnCreate(LPCREATESTRUCT lpCreateStruct) function and i am creating my CWnd in the int CClientView::OnCreate(LPCREATESTRUCT lpCreateStruct).

Try to remove the dialog invocation from the CMainFrame::OnCreate. Move it to the Application's InitInstance. If the user fails at entering the application, you can immediately exit it (will not create the main frame).

Hello. I am a final year student in electrical and electronics engineering. I am taking up a project on a path finding system.The system is to seek the shortest and fastest distances between two locations on a map with considerations of the number of traffic lights and timing of the traffic lights. I am looking for source codes for a Global Positioning System (GPS) software to be run on a pocket PC.I am unsure of which platform to use, Access , Visual Basic or SQL.
The guys in Telmap and mapopolis are doing it, but how?
I hope to hear from anyone who is interested.

Hi,
Stay away from Visual Basic. Pocket Access is usable but not very powerful. If you want raw power in your application, there is only one way to go: C++ and SQL Server CE 2.0.
GPS receivers generally work through the COM port. I have some code for that, but perhaps you want to check out this book first:

Hi all,
I've been assigned the task of obtaining a number of handheld units.
The idea is to write a some database app on them to facillitate mobile data collection.
Then at the end of every day they upload (either by docking/wireless/phone) to a central server.
Anybody any input to help me.
At the moment I don't even know what platform to choose!
Sounds like a common task - are there any good solutions out there already?
Any advice welcome before I take the plunge.

That sounds like a very common request. And, really, most mobile platforms will fit the bill you need. My experience with the Pocket PC allows me to tell you that it does support a very interesting number of databases and connectivity methods. You can use Access, SQL Server, Oracle and many other db engines. As for connectivity, you have a full spectrum of access methods, Bluetooth-enabled GPRS, Wi-Fi, cradle, the works.
So, it is an excellent choice.

It depends on the application type, but you can rely on HP and Symbol.

Well the handhelds will be used on the wards in a hospital for a new trial we're doing.
I've fallen out with HP at the moment because of their appauling OfficeJet drivers and support so they'd be my last resort! I guess it couldn't hurt to look at their stuff though!
