How about selecing the most popular project and then splitting the crowd up into subgroups depending on their ability...

How to develop a voting and decision making system so that we fast and flexible could make decisions about our projects.?
We can use CP directly like this:
- could be open 48 hour after the proposition is made.
- people can can put forward their ideas and be elected on. CP's own vote system should work here.
- never on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday (US Central Time)
The subject line could be:
- one of theese
"CPP vote 24h-24h:" (24h for presenting alternativs and 24h for voting)
or
"CPP vote 48h" (all alternativs are presented, so start voting at once)
- the first reply would be your proposal or problem, with project name if necessary.
- people would reply, and the reply with the most votes would automatically be accepted as the final decision after 48h. If it is a bad decision it can always be elected down with a new proposition.
- the one who has won the voting would change the subject line in his message to "Decided" and copy the message to the project logg.
If you have some other idea then reply to this and we can vote...

Fine with me for most things, but when we divide up into seperate projects, I think we should have a seperate article for each project with voting done at the bottom. Also, some things do best with the CP-poll-of-the-week style of polling.

Do what most programmers do then. Write something that will solve a problem that interests you. Then publish an article about it. The more you program the more you learn. You'll be creating something you can use. You will be publishing it so someone else can learn.
When someone asks for references, you can not only point to the many applications and types of applications you have written, but you can say you have been published.
Now for real work. I suggest you start talking to your parents, your friends, your friends parents. Anyone you can find that you think might be able to help. Ask them if they know of a company and better yet a manager in the company that would be willing to give you an internship. Usually these are unpaid, but the benefits far outweight the pay if you have no experience.
You might also contact your local charities. Depending on the type of charity they may let you volunteer and help out.
Hope that gives you some ideas. Your best chance is to get a personal reference though.
Take a browse through the many articles on this site and I am sure you can find some ideas for what to write on your own time just for fun.
Here is something to strive for. Write a distributed game engine that will allow unlimited participants to live in a virtual world. Ok, maybe that is a bit much to start out with.

The new Lister (which is typical activated by F3) has color syntax for *.c, *.cpp, bookmarks, folding blocks etc.

Hi Guys,
there is this home grown class sitting on my hard drive. The result of the last 3 years...
Features:
It supports easier access to ComPorts, certain kind of HID devices (HIDPOS, IBM-SurePos, Cypress-HidCom).
It is extensible for new devices (raw USB bulk?).
The differences of the ports are hidden from the user.
Enumerates all these devices for the UI.
Supports PnP.
....
Almost no documentation 
I started to prepare to publish, but did run in problems. It is just to closly coupled to UI and MFC (contains a few dialogs, references to resource strings, ..).
What do you think, shall I remove all UI stuff to get a small comm lib?
Who wants to test it / contribute?

I think, in general, you can make an article describing how to do what you did and post the code as an example of the implementation. (even with mfc dialogs and rest, just should be compilable).
I admire the amount of work being probably behind your code. Therefore if I could recommend you something, focus on writing a documentation and let the sources as they are. I think even than your article will be valuable source of information.
The idea behind is, that if anyone is interested, he can learn how to do it and then either reuse parts of your code, or if he wants he can write it at his own, but in any case it will save him a lot of time, because he will have the documentation (and possible related links) at one place (and the sources are some kind of bonus). I think, that you will agree with me, that just put together all links and materials to the subjects you implemented is a huge task.
I personally prefer articles with well described idea, how to achieve something (as I am being dumb sometimes, I need quite detailed description ). Then some source code with some sort of implementation is a Good Thing(TM).

hello,
I am trying to compile a source code written in MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class) language.
I am continuesly facing an error called C2664:
cannot convert parameter 1 from 'class CRobot' to 'class CRobot *'
It says also : No user-defined-conversion operator available that can perform this conversion, or the operator cannot be called.
I tryed to overload both "constructor" and "=". But it doesn´t help.
I think it is simple compiler error but I´m not able to solve it.
If you need to see the code please let me know and I´ll send it to you.

The compiler is telling you it needs a pointer to an object, not an actual object. Try calling the fucntion like this:
CRobot robot;
...
SomeFunction(&robot);

Actually, I need help.
I need a logo for one of my apps. But not being skilled in the graphics or aesthetics department, I am stumped here. Will any one please make it for me? I will give a free copy of my app to you when it comes out, even if you don't need the app. I think it's going to be within a month or so.

Not to sound like a pest, but I still haven't got a reply to the mail I sent you so I have no way of knowing if you got it. Did you? If you don't have the time to do it or can't do it for any other reason, it's perfectly OK, but just let me know.
And I don't know who voted your post a 1 and why, but the fact that it's still 2.3 after I voted it 5 to bring the rating back up shows that it was a platinum member (I am gold). Now there are not too many platinum members on this site. And this also shows that even platinum members don't know how to vote.
