Dear God.
You know that he will never love you, don't you?

You're a looney, mate.
I don't hate any of the protagonists of this little scene, but I also do not believe that any of them should be above the law, or should infringe on other people's rights -- e.g. the right to not get punched in the face by cow-orkers.
Your apparent adoration of Mr. Not-in-any-way-special-or-unique Clarkson is blinding you to the fact that he behaved like an @rsehole, and that firing him was the only correct option.
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

no you feel that you know more than is public knowledge and assign action that are not proven to justify your dislike of a TV personality, you claim to be supporting the law but as a victim of such behaviour I can assure you that your reaction is NOT based on rational ideas but a knee jerk reaction to someone who you obviously hate, so mush so that your hackles immediately rise should anyone have the nerve to defend him.
I don't think he is or should be above the law I do think that the hate spewed by you and others are far in excess of the crime committed
firing him was not the only option and the fact you think so shows you to be narrow minded and vindictive
as for sanity you may be right however I doubt I will see the inside of a sanatorium without you being there to welcome me on behalf of the other guests
You cant outrun the world, but there is no harm in getting a head start

Jesus wept.
Can't you hopelessly adore pop-stars, like everyone else? Most of them are prettier than Clarkson.
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

and why can't you reserve your blind hatred for the ISIS or similar who have committed acts worthy of such hatred
have you ever thought that you maybe overacting?

Just that their are numerous cases of people punching people* who are not fired what makes Clarkson different?
*I have personnel experience of this fact

I'm getting to understand why numerous people might punch you.

We don't know what happened so we cant really comment. It takes two to take part in a heated argument that lasts a number of minutes though so I don't suppose it was entirely one sided.
We know precisely what happened.
A colleague punched a colleague in the mouth, drawing blood.
Fired. On the spot. You don't even bother to ask questions.
If it's possible that disciplinary action should also be taken against the other party, you start to ask questions after the violent party has left the building.

We know one thing about this. That the guy went to A&E for a split lip. We don't know how that happened, what happened leading up to it, and what blows were exchanged.

From the official report;
Quote: * the physical attack lasted around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness;
* it is the case that Oisin Tymon offered no retaliation;
* the verbal abuse was directed at Oisin Tymon on more than one occasion – both during the
attack and subsequently inside the hotel – and contained the strongest expletives and threats to sack him. The abuse was at such volume as to be heard in the dining room, and the shouting
was audible in a hotel bedroom;
It was not disputed by Jeremy Clarkson or any witness that Oisin Tymon was the victim of an
unprovoked physical and verbal attack.

I thought the 'official report' hadn't been released to the public? I know the Police are asking for it.
that's the bit the BBC have release so it may be just their version of the events so far Clarkson has been silent
You cant outrun the world, but there is no harm in getting a head start

It's on the BBC website.
I realise finding that may be tricky for the police.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.
And you really think the police will prosecute based on that? You do know what the legal term 'hear say' means I assume?
We do not know what happened until all witnesses have made their statements, and the contradictions ironed out.
The bit about the police not being able to find something published on a website...
That was a joke.
The police will not prosecute because the bloke who got his lip split will not make a complaint to them, without that they cannot do anything.
There is also not going to be a complete forensic investigation and report beyond what has been done because there is no need for one.
Investigation concluded, everyone happy with the outcome (apart from men who treasured Top Gear like teenage girls treasure One Direction).
I like Top Gear, I liked the character of Jeremy Clarkson on it, it doesn't bother me at all that he will no longer be on it. When it returns my Tivo will pick up the series link and record it, I'll probably watch the first one or two and then give up and so something else instead.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

The way you get on with people, I thought you would be very much against the idea of people being allowed to punch cow-orkers.
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

I am, and I am not defending him, just saying that nothing is as simple as it first seems and that before we judge and condemn we should have all the facts, which are very hard to come by it seems since everyone who was there is keeping very tight lipped about it.
I'm neither judging nor defending anyone. It appears to be everyone else who is doing that.
He punched a cow-orker. That's instant dismissal. The correct action was taken.
I don't care who he (thinks he) is, or how others worship him, this is his inalienable right: If you get punched by a cow-orker, he gets fired.
It's everyone else's inalienable right, too.
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!
