Pretty much the same one everyday Griff. A combination of the soft drone of the forced-air HVAC system, the white noise sound interruption suppression system (which sounds amazingly like the former) and our IT guy muttering maniacally to himself (largely drowned out by the first two).

Speaking of soundtrack and our IT guy, I played a spontaneous practical joke on him yesterday. He was testing out some device and part of his test involved playing Over The Hills And Far Away. When he stopped playing it, I quickly delved into my LZ stash and located the point where he had stopped and started playing it through my PC speakers. He looked a little confused for a period until he worked out it was me.

I have the usual on/off music.
Can't listen to it when thinking of a plan for a new app or when making a concept.
When I know what I want to do and just start coding, that's when the music plays - if no one else needs to talk to me of course.
Usually it's a mix of classical music(Wagner,Tchaikovsky), movie music, techno(bit of trance), (hard) rock and (insert x genre here) metal.
Lately I've been preferring Devin Townsend, Opeth, Neurotech and Anathema.

Same here. I used to drown it out with music, and most of the time ambient noise pretty much distracts me from it, but times like now, it's just a lovely roar.

Sorry to hear, it does indeed suck. It is dead quiet in my office 95% of the time, so I get to experience it 8-9 hrs. solid, until I get to the car.
