a = a+a
Division by zero is a no-no because it can lead to "impossible" results like the above.

The value of a is irrelevant; a - a == 0, and factoring out a - a is division by 0, which is forbidden.
I am not a mathematician, so I don't know if it is possible to create a self-consistent arithmetic in which division by 0 does not result in nonsensical results. All I know is that in the arithmetic I learnt in school it is forbidden.

I thought for a minute that the the guy on the left is the one responsible for a world pie shortage, then I realised, no he has only eaten everyones shirts, either that or they have torn their shirts off to use as ear plugs.

Back when I started... We were guilty of similar offenses.
All I can say looking back is, I am amazed our parents put up with some awful Led Zep, Judas Priest and AC/DC covers. The only difference is we didn't have the opportunity to post our egregious performances where all could see. And that's a good thing. 
It was broke, so I fixed it.

Yes most certainly. I once saw a video of a band playing what I assume was their own song. The rest of the band got so angry with their guitarist not learning the solo to it, that they all smacked him one by one and then left the stage in the middle of the song. I will edit and add the link if you want, when I make it home tonight.
