Oddly he has had so much rope he could have made a suspension bridge, but the execs don't seem to have realised how crap he is, despite the complaints coming from a number of people who have worked with him.

Sit on the side of the river and wait. Be sure to provide him as much rope as he needs and be collaborative and supportive. Noone will ever be able to tell you that it's your fault he's a dUck, or complain about your behaviour.

At one point, our resident genius changed production code and brought the system crashing down.
A VP took him to the side, "Don't ever put code in without going through process!"
Two weeks later, VP comes running through, "Where is JH!? I'm going to fire him."
What happened?
He deployed unchecked software to prod again, of course. And it crashed the entire system.
Alas, they did not fire him.

The people who caused the most horrnedous problems at a place I worked years ago were MCPs who looked up the answers on the Internet, passed the certs and then walked around with their chests sticking out and billowing BS smoke all through the hallways.

after almost a week of hard work and exploring a Google / code project a lot i am able to communicate between c# and objective c using bonjour sdk for c# and socket programming. now we are able to share file/data To/from c# and iphone on a same network. receiving first ping on c# from iPhone was like finding a new galaxy. feeling very happy right now. thanks code project i got some very useful article here for socket programming.

After changing from Blackberry to Android and loosing the availability to have infinite data even in a different country where I do live... I've lost the possibility to use Google maps freely wherever I am.
I've found that some weeks ago Nokia launched Here Beta for android.
It can't be installed from Google Play, but it offers a great navigation application for free with the possibility to download maps and use them offline.
In my last travel it has helped me a lot as in Copenhagen the car GPS went mad (streets with changed circulation direction) and NOKIA Here was updated...
If you did not knew about it and need a GPS application that works without a data connection try it, it works really well.
Time to go back to work now...

Yes, but:
Limitations
Cannot search or use navigation
Your saved map includes streets and maps data. Zoom in to see a detailed view of your offline map.
Certain features, like satellite, terrain, indoor maps, and 3D buildings will not be available offline.
Features that require a network connection, like directions and Navigation aren’t available offline, either.
Nokia Here works perfectly without data and it navigates you to your destination properly with voice guidance.

Ah. Didn't notice that. I just remembered it was possible to use maps offline (including the gps position). Did that quite few times already when I was doing some city trips just to be be able to find out where I actually was

That really doesn't work on my Nexus 7 - hangs, lags, and black screen...not a good start!

It may be that the app is checking the phone ID and so forth, and failing because the Nexus 7 doesn't have one!

At the beginning they had a problem with ccleaner and this kind of cache cleaning applications (voices got deleted and it was impossible to get them back), but now that they have solved it in my phone it is a super-solid app that works like charm.

It wont install on my Galaxy S, probably too old. Oh well. Back to google maps and massive data charges...

There is also NAVFREE and MAPFACTOR, both work, not as high end as HERE, but...
