Some people think of it like this.
$1.60 - $0.30 = $1.30
So if the burger is $1 more the answer is $0.30 because $1.30 - $1 = $0.30 
Sad part is when I asked other people some of them really had that 'logic'...

It's 15c (I wish I can buy chips for that!) but there's something about that question that provides a strong urge to say 30c. I've got a very similar question wrong in the past by saying the 'obvious' thing.

Make the question even more simple and it might trick more  :
if a meal with a burger and a drink costs $1.10 and the burger costs $1 more than the drink. how much did you pay for the drink?

The original question was exactly that. with a bat and ball.
So i thought I'd do a social experiment and make it a bit more difficult to see if they fall much easier for a simple or a bit more complex question.
