Not getting jokes appears to be something of an American specialty. Don't even ask one to define the word "irony"; you'll be there all day.
I imagine that this will be celebrated every year in the UK, from now on. I shall certainly throw a party.
BTW, were you aware that the original design for the statue of liberty had her thumbing her nose in the direction of England? At least the French have a sense of humour.

I read some bizarre claims about the miracle material in the Evening Standard the other night. The worst - that the act of lifting your phone from your desk to you ear would completely charge it.
