I've been here from the beginning, just found that I registered as martm prior to the database crash and the forced reregistrations.
Also ran into Maunder back at CodeGuru which was before CodeProject existed.

I removed the MSVC12 Python builds I had (they didn't work correctly for some reason), and I tried building Python 3.4.1 with MSVC11 earlier today, and I have the builds working, other than the 'pythonw' executable, which exits with error code 9009 (DNS_ERROR_RCODE_NOTAUTH, according to msdn[^]  )
I have successfully installed a module that includes C extensions (Markupsafe).
I am going to continue toying around with this, and I think I am going to start a project on SourceForge to distribute these builds. I will post a link here when I get it online.
I will try Python 2.7.8 tomorrow.

Meh. Put it on GitHub. While I loathe git, I do find GitHub to be easy to use and, from my narrow perspective, the "in" thing, which is also pathetic because I don't like to do what the masses are doing. SourceForge seems sort of passe.

I am using the unmodified (other than project file upgrades) sources from Python.org, and don't have any real items to put into source control. If I get a complete build system set up I might put it on Github.

Disabled it globally! I had only disabled it for Pictures but after I got your answer I went in and turned it off globally. Don't think it will effect me but I know how to turn it back on if it does.
