If you haven't figured it out (and it seems like you are getting there), there are no changes to your desktop side of things at all, once you've got Outlook set up to read the IMAP boxes correctly. And that is done through a local PST file, which is simply Outlooks' duplication of the server mails.

The only thing you should need to do is to set up the mailboxes on the Android to point to the IMAP boxes on the server (using the same settings that you used in Outlook - i.e., port, server, password, ...). I have an older phone and it works with 3 different mailboxes concurrently that Outlook also reads and writes to. There was a point where I had to call my ISP because some Apache settings were messed up, not allowing enough simultaneous connections, but that had nothing to do with the basic setup.

If that doesn't get you going, holler again and I'll try to remember more.

edit: PS - I even read some accounts using TBird on the computer because it is much faster than my old Outlook, and that works well, even having Outlook and TBird open at the same time.
