As those who follow my posts here may know, my Apprenticeship will come to an End by this summer.
My class has now decided to spend a weekend in Prague, the capital of Czech. No one of us has been there yet, so has anyone of you Guys ever been there? Favorite places, Bars, Places to avoid?

Its all good. 
I was there so long ago I expect any place I could recommend has changed but as a whole, its a great visit. If you can take a train to Czesky-Krumlov, (yeah, I just KLNOW that's spelt wrong) if possible, its even more stunning.

Was there several times - all beauty, specially the old city. Just walk around and enjoy...

I spent a weekend in Prague I think. There was Absinthe involved and some details are a bit hazy, but I'm pretty sure it was Prague.

I was there a few years ago, I really liked it.. At day and with good weather its really worth going to the castle, where you will have an incredible view. The city itself is very nice also, lots of cool old buildings for sightseeing.
And at night Prague turns into one big party location, there should be enough bars, restaurants and clubs for every taste. There are also a lot of Jazz clubs there (dont ask me why) if you are into that. Czech people in general are very friendly and welcoming.

Was there ten years ago for new years.
Our hotel booking was f***ed up and all hotels were full so we ended up in a shack smelling of garlic, cigarette smoke on steroids and very strong detergents.
We still had a great time though as everything could only get better after that.
Can't really say where to go as my memories are a bit fuzzy, but I can tell you that the quality of the hotels vary much more than the price, so do check them on tripadvisor or something similar before booking.
Oh, I should add that messing up the booking was our own fault, and the people are really friendly and helpful.

I've been there last September with my family (we try to visit a city together once a year)
The castle is definitly worth going to. Also the tower at the old town square provides a really impressive view over the whole city.
Then there are really lots of small pubs and bars with nice beer (Pilsner Urquell is probably the most famous one from the Czech Rep.)  And if you walk by some bakers making some sweet bread wrapped around a bar: try it! It's really delicious 
We were mostly in Old Town though (2 nights aren't that much, and the "girls" (mostly my sister  ) "needed" to go shopping too) and didn't go clubbing or something like that, so I can't really give advice on that but I might know a few people from Vienna that occasionlaly go to Prague for that purpose. If you like I could try to gather some more info in that regard

I went there on one of my stag dos ten years ago.
Was a wonderful place, beautiful city but schizophrenic with different personalities for day or night.
Beware the cab drivers, some of them are very kind and will take you to a cash point on the way to a brothel.

So, this morning I got up a bit extra early, taking into account that there was about 8" (20cm) very wet snow last night. I shoveled most of it and Mrs Wife finished off the leavings.
She mentioned there was a hole in my car, right rear, but all the lights still worked.
So, this morning I took a peak before driving off to the commuter rail: the hole wasn't a hole. It was an elephanting smash. Not quite driveable, either, as some of what used to be a fender or bumper or wherever it came from was against the tire.
So, I'm working from home again, awaiting tow to repair shop, determining need if police report need be filed, whining about walking to/from transport areas for an indeterminate amount of time, and in order to make my pleasure complete, the $500 deductible on my policy's collision.
So, after someone tells me if I'm having fun, yet, I'll contemplate why one goes on with the struggle.
I just dropped $6K on furniture to replace what Hurricane Sandy ate, so the money hemorrhage is a bit more noticeable than usual.

No snow. No Hurricanes. No Water. Hot as a mother-elephanter.
Now, on a website that was touting Phoenix as one of the safest cities from natural disasters, someone did admit to "Also during our extreme summers, we get monsoon storms. Those storms produce the potential for microbursts, lightning strikes, flooding, etc. We had a very serious storm last summer where the tops of the clouds reached a over mile high and were -100 degrees while the ground surface was over +100. This produced a very violent storm that left some without power for up to 48 hours. Our dust storms can also be very violent and can cause a lot of damage due to motor vehicle accidents."
There are no free rides (except maybe, Hawaii - and even if not, the girls are so pretty and can shake their hips at 60 Hz).

Went to Fight Club last night. It was thoroughly enjoyable, if a little knackering. Only thing is I was slightly late so missed the rules, doubt they were important though.
