I've just been ordered to create a start to finish timeline for a project that just went into beta testing.
Miraculously, I'll be meeting all the deadlines on this project.
No sweat.

I'm going to put "develop timeline" at the 9 month point in the project plan.
I'll fly in Dr. Who to explain it to the staff.

You realize there are two problems with that approach:
1) He will as usual be followed by a flotilla of Daleks, Cybermen, Yeti and Aliens-strangely-reminiscent-of-Earth-animals-that-just-happen-to-have-two-legs-and-two-arms which will do considerable civic damage before defeated by a rubber band and a sonic screwdriver.
2) He will also be followed by DD, whose well-known capacity will do even worse damage to civc alcohol supplies...

The other guy was well within his rights to put up a light. Plus, he was there for AT LEAST 5 years before the Aussie. The Aussie shows up and wants everyone to change for him.

His origin is really quite irrelevant. If he lives here he has the same rights as everyone else and that includes the right not to be blinded by a light that could easily be moved or have the intensity reduced.

Yes, but not one that could blind people or disrupt their sleep: that is not reasonable.
Plus, just because the other guy lived there for 5 years is a big so what - it means nothing; he was just being selfish and uncaring and the aussie wasn't asking him to change, just turn down or redirect the light 0 hardly unseasonable.
I guess, though, you're probably just like the jackass: think you can do whatever you want even if it upsets or disrupts other people - you must be a real joy to live next to.
