Microsoft have finally gone completely bananas.
Using Hentai Anime to flog their wares!
Rather creepy to use a 13 year old sexually provocative character with her short skirt and, oddly for the Asian market, large blue eyes.
It is bordering on hebephilia.
What next? Will she do a Money Shot every time someone buys VS13?
Seriously, the hive mind at Redmond must have authorised this, although how and why it got through as a 'Good Idea' is beyond me.

Yeah was on the CP New articles yesterday. I'm a big fan of anime, unfortunately IE would like to ruin that for me. TIt's hard to describe just how shocking it is or even describe how on earth microsoft, an american company, came to the conclusion to use a japanese advertisement.

Very bad choice. Cortana doesn't deserve this fate. Please spare her.

Inori Aizawa probably isn't going to make me use IE, but I was interested enough that I looked up some more drawings.

I'm afraid that that's how you advertise in Japan. It might not be of much use with Jethro and Bobby-Sue, but it's pretty much ideal for the Japanese market.
The metaphors are clear (I particularly like the huge, evil -- is it burning? -- clanky monster with fox-like ears, at the end), so it makes the points it wants to make to the people it wants to make the points to.
It's a well scripted and implemented ad.

I think they're going to do like McDs and put a sign out front at Redmond saying how many sold.

I don't find the relationship between animation/hentai and hebephilia. I have seen some of the stuff and to be honest, it is more funny than anything else. I would but it right in line with watching employees at Mc Donalds attempting to figure out how to make fries using group think, or a group of Apes eating ants with a straw. Funny, and interesting but nothing else.

Depending on what you want:
If you want something easy to start go for UBUNTU.
If you want to get dirty in Linux internals, go for DEBIAN.
There are plenty of options in between.
As a server, I've only tested redhat (and it truly works well) but CENTOS is the "free redhat version" something based on redhat that's free.
Try it there are plenty of them that are free, test, and if you are not happy, change it.
