The Avast freebie installed ok. I tried to run it but it froze on startup inviting me to start the service. Clicked it, clicked it again. Nothing listed in services.msc. Few of the options were editable. The main UI was red. Tried to uninstall it. It told me it couldn't due to a problem. That's the whole bloody point of uninstalling sometimes; to fix a problem. I had to delete the folder in Program Files. Clicking uninstall then removed the entry in the ARP list. What a schlep.
I can see now why it's called Avast. It's a vast piece of crap. I will try Kaspersky. Maybe I'll cut my losses and head straight back to MSE, passing MacCrappy on the way.
If there is one thing more dangerous than getting between a bear and her cubs it's getting between my wife and her chocolate.

English doesn't borrow from other languages.
English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

Who is the member that have in his signature a link to a code converter?

It is definitely on of the 10,000,000+ members.
Perhaps.
Maybe not.
You should try to be a little more succinct in your enquiry if you are to be more successful obtaining a pertinent response.

You would be better served by asking this question in the WPF/Silverlight forum. It is more a discussion than a help me question.
What you should NOT have done is bring it to the Lounge. You don't ask programming questions here, although some discussions do make through the filtering, and you certainly don't link to a programming question in another forum.

besides - he has to connect to the interwebs with Telstra. Given that disability it'll be a cold day in Van Diemen land before he has a connection stable enough to write anything lengthy on the forum.

For those who don't code, or those who have offspring, friends, relatives, colleagues etc. who want to dip their toe - take a squiz at http://csedweek.org/[^]
"It's a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code" and show that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, a creator, an innovator."
For teachers ....
"Learn to code - from Mark Zuckerberg and Angry Birds
Code.org will provide tutorials for any browser, tablet, phone, even unplugged. Our own tutorial will feature Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Angry Birds, and Plants vs. Zombies. We’ll share a preview for feedback in early-November.
Win laptops or a video chat with Bill Gates for your class
50 schools who organize an Hour of Code for the entire school will win a class-set of laptops. 50 more will win video chats with Bill Gates, Jack Dorsey, or other tech leaders. So far, we have 990 "entire school" submissions. You can see the list of schools at http://csedweek.org/events/schools[^]. In some states, your school will be the first to sign up, making your chances of winning exceptional. The deadline is Nov. 15, so register now. More info about prizes can be found at http://csedweek.org/prizes[^]. "
