I would have a check of the event log to see if any errors from the WebDev.WebServer.Exe are there.
The problem might not be with code that you have written in your page, but an error caused by the webserver from values that you have passed into it.

Me too, except I have no way to do this now, except having the asp code write a file to a folder and have a service on the box that polls for the file and processes it.

We are trying to import GIS shapefiles into SQL. We found an open source lib for reading the shapefiles (Catfood). Our concept for importing into SQL is to build a WKT string and use the SQL conversion function to get the SQLGeometry type and stick that into the column we want. I think that part is pretty straight forward, but how do we go about converting the projections automatically? Is there something out there better then Catfood that we can use? Doesn't need to be open source, but we need to have control over how the row is created.
I know there are tools to import, but we need to have more control and we need to import around 10 layers and set them up properly, so we'd rather just write an app that the Operations group can just click a button and go.

Hi All,
I have published on desktop application on server which retrives data from SQL server which is there on the same server.
When i run the application from the server it takes one second to execute the Query
But when i run the same application from client system it takes lot of time to execute that Query.
Any reason why it is happening and any alternative for the same??
Any different approach for such latency issues?

What is your network speed?
Reducing volume of data sent over the wire should help you reduce this delay.

Modify the query to be count(*) instead of a data retrieval operations then you will know the "basic" round trip time. Then, realize, if you are using a Data Set or a EF, or any code generator, there is likely a double trip to load schema information on the query. IE, use data-readers if you like speed and utilized field indexes and native types instead of the column name pseudo index.
Also, remember, local connections can use named pipes, but remote are forced to use TCP-IP under SQL Server or some such.

Is it really only ONE (and exactly one) query to the database?
Or do you get a dataset with many records, then iterate thru the records, and retrieve additional information for each of them by an additional query each?

Access doesn't really have a bulk insert. You'll have to insert the records into the Access database one at a time.

The picture isn't visible; there are plenty of hosts that allow the display of a picture without the need to download it.
The characters will always be drawn one at a time - it's not handwriting where one letter flows into the other. If you're talking about a pixelated word that needs smoothing, then you're looking for what's called "aliassing".

Hi,
I have a Windows 8 App , which calls to Twitter via Azure Mobile Service. Intially I was able to get the user's json information ( Name and Profile picture ) by passsing the ID to the following URL:
https://api.twitter.com/users/
However with the change of twitter API 1.1 this doesnot work. I am able to login but unable to retreive the user information in JSON format.
Please help me getting the correct signature in C# in the following format.

I have the following data with me:
User ID
oauth Token
Consumer Key
Consumer Secret
I would need the output in a URL format which when I put in my browser returns the user information in JSON format. I tried refering https://dev.twitter.com/docs/auth/creating-signature but I am unable to get it in URL format.
Your help will be highly appreciated.
