OK, to answer you, to get that specific you may need to purchase a salary report from a company. I personally have not seen WPF called out individually in recent salary reports.

Because you said NY (I'm assuming - perhaps incorrectly - that you mean NYC) I'll answer, "it depends". WPF devs in NYC with a quant background (or some experience in quant) command $150K+. More quant experience pays more than more WPF experience.

That sounds like a lot of money, but the cost of living in NYC is steep. The money you end up saving after paying for everything is not much different than other cities in the nation where the pay is half as much.

NYC is expensive, esp. if you live in Manhattan. However, the figure I quoted doesn't include the bonus, which can match or exceed the base salary. But you basically put your life on hold (literally) and live at work. The perks are nice, though, and you get the latest and greatest hardware and software and pretty much all the toys you want.
Need a laptop to connect from home? How about a MacBook Pro, i7 quad-core, 2880x1800 on the panel, 16G RAM, 768 SSD with Windows installed on Bootcamp, the standard tools + an MSDN subscription. True story.
Fair warning: the job often causes premature greying and balding.

That is a very specific and highly specialised set of skills and I'm damn sure the Quant skills are of more value than the WPF. A good Quant is invaluable!
Oh and if Loyd doesn't know what a Quant is then he has buckleys of ever landing such a job

I have some quant experience but no formal degree. The job says it's a hand-on position so I'm assuming that c#/WPF is at least as important.

I got my new Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard yesterday. A big improvement over the old mouse which was getting "rusty" and the keyboard keys that had lost their oompth. Today, I got my Brother HL-2270DW mono laser printer. The print quality to my untrained eye is excellent. Even pictures look crisp and well shaded. Mrs. Wife is back on Sunday so I need to top up on self-inflicted prezzies while the going is good.
She was muttering about a new camera when we in Joburg but eschewed buying one there because of warranty implications and the need to compare prices and reviews. I might turn the proverbial penny over several times before buying one for her until I know how serious she is about having a new one.
Decisions. Decisions.

Actually, all you have to do is turn the mouse over, take off the bottom, remove the ball, and clean the rollers. Works like new again.
I miss those days. The President of the company I worked for many years ago thought I was a genius because I fixed his mouse and saved him money. My boss said he needed to buy a new mouse. My boss was not an IT guy so he wasn't bothered that I "showed him up" so easily.
