Struth...
"Toxoplasma gondii could cause a change in our behaviour—even a change in our personality that could 'make us' like cats."
I have had some recent changes in behaviour. Last week I started spraying the plants around the front entrance and scratching up the railing on the deck.
Sorry about using the lounge as if it were Facebook.
I will sell the cats to science and invest in a Poodle.....and my next post will not be "I just breathed".

At the same time... about 19% of the US is currently infected with toxo and the percentage is rising. It is really only dangerous in people with compromised immune systems and pregnant women who were not infected before they became pregnant.

Am planning on buying an invisible cat-fence; that way he can frolic outside without me worrying about the safety of the neighbours dog. It'd consist of a wire and a collar - giving a sound-warning when the cat is close to the border of the garden (collar detects the wire), and giving a small shock if the cat ignores the warning-sound.

Was it in a paper bag, lit on fire? And discovered when somebody rang the doorbell?

Considering how unstable the Steam application is, I think I will be steering clear for now!

Isn't it stable yet? I met it once in 2004 when I accidentally bought Half Life 2 and couldn't play the stupid thing because Steam wouldn't stay alive long enough to actually let me in... Never been back to a Steam DRM game.
I can see it now: "You can't watch the Footie now, Steam is updating itself. Again. Try again in 90 minutes..."
The only instant messaging I do involves my middle finger.

ON the PC it's more stable than it was in 2004.
ON the Mac it's about as stable as a one-legged table in an earthquake.

Huh? That's the first time I see "stability" mentioned as an issue for recent steam versions.
What platform?

It has been fine for me for years now, but I do remember when it was different..

Same for me. I remember back in the old days of Team Fortress and then Counter-Strike when Steam was useless. It would crash all the time and you were better off not using it.
That being said, I haven't had any problems with it for several years. I think its one of the best things to ever happen to PC gaming.

Agreed entirely.

My guess is "The Big Picture" and SteamOS are very different on the back end. The interfaces are most likely very similar, but that is for product line consistency. I opened up "TBP" a couple times on my computer, and it's essentially just a Steam-powered Metro interface.
I didn't find it particularly useful and now I just use the standard interface. That being said, I didn't give it much of a chance because, at the time, I was wanting to do something very specific that I knew exactly how to do with the normal interface. I might open up "The Big Picture" again tonight and do some exploratory research. I'll try to remember to report my findings tomorrow...

Why does this guy scream "AWESOME" quite often in his kitchen?
Just reminds me of the kids that try to emulate stylish weather reporters in TV channels. All gestures, misplaced. But the difference, they look very cute.

With the extravagant introduction he started with, I thought a C-3PO like thing would fall down from the chimney and start cooking for him in the kitchen. That would have been really "AWESOME". Not just for a piece of speech-recognition code.
