I hate PayPal and can't quantify why or how, I just hate them. The same way I hate Telstra, but I can quantify and justify hating them. I have walked away from purchasing things that require PayPal in the past and would like to do the same now.
I have something I need (OK, want not need, but shut up and stop interrupting my rant) that will save me 38.5% per year if I go with PayPal. I know I'll eventually sign up for PayPal later tonight when good and drunk but just want some CPian's to feed me bullshit as to why I should embrace PayPal to make me feel better.
I have created a new email address just to sign up for PayPal it contain p4yp4larekunts just to make me feel a little bit better about being rogered by using them.

I don't mind them - if you are using them to pay for stuff, and there is no currency conversion going on, there are a lot worse companies to deal with. They don't send me much cr@p in the email department, and they are very, very good if you have a problem with a purchase. They don't pass your card or account details on to the seller, so there is a goodly amount less "trust" needed that the seller isn't going to sell your card details to the russian mafia.
If you're selling they are a PITA, because they charge you for it, at "not-cheap" rates, and they always seem to side with the purchaser, and you can get burnt too easily if you don't take all the precautions you can against a fraudster.
But for payments, I'd rather use them than a direct card online - I'm pretty sure it was an Amazon card purchase that got my bank card copied and used copiously in Hong Kong a couple of years ago.

Stop telling me good things. Maybe Telstra doesn't ring the old memory bells for you. So I'll mention the other abomination with customer service synonymous with Telstra you must remember, QANTAS.

I use PayPal all the time. One nice thing is when buying from a site where you can pay with PayPal, they automatically get your shipping address transferred.
The only thing that makes me SoMad, is the way they rob you on the exchange rate when you buy something in another currency.
I also created a new, dedicated mail address when I signed up. I guess I was a bit paranoid, but that's just because everyone is out to get me.

That sucks arse then, pretty much everything I buy online is in a foreign currency. I only remember buying one thing from Australia online and that was cause I didn't fancy the 4,000km+ drive to pick up.

Mrs. Wife uses them a lot but only because those arsewipes that run ebay insist you do. So far she's not been ripped off by them but some of the wankers she buys from try it on with P&P costs. She bought two similar sized items and both were up t'north in Yorkshire. One charged no more than £3 postage and the other wanted something like £12. I told her to complain to the ebay arsewipes and they must have dumped on the arsewipe seller who later emailed to say the P&P was an "administrative error" and then dropped the P&P to something close to £4.50.
Now, be a good boy and bury your head in a crate of beer.

Probably, but try and buy something from them that doesn't require paypal as the only means of payment process or ""authorisation".

That's a problem with the ebay business model. They take a cut of the price, but not of the shipping fees. Sellers, of course, then make their products cheap and raise the shipping & handling to make their money.

But do you use them? I have bought multiple dozens of things off the internet over the years giving my Credit Card to randoms and never had an issue.

I use Paypal all the time, especially handy so you don't have to have your credit card to hand. I have only had two or three problems in my credit card owning history and these were recticfied by the issuing company.
I used to know my primary credit card number, issue and expiry dates and cvc code off by heart, but my memory is too full of other cr@p now that I would need to go get it if I needed it.
I also like how I can choose which payment method the funds get pulled from, i.e. credit card, paypal balance or direct from bank, depending on what I am buying.

PayPals business model is accusing random people of fraud so they can freeze their accounts. They can then just take the money, because it's impossible to ever get an account unfrozen.

They froze my account once, because there was some problem with my ID - never did get to the bottom of exactly why. But they unfroze it within a week when I proved I was who I said I was. I'd rather they did it that way than let people impersonate me!

No, I've sold a few things on FleaBay which means you have to use them, but I don't like the percentage cut they take, or the way they are so rabidly on the side of the buyer, even you can prove delivery to a lying elephant...never lost the money or the goods, but it's been unnecessary hassle at times.
