I'm trying to implement RSA Cipher, for this reason i need to work with really big numbers (around 100 digits long). Does anybody know how to generate such big prime numbers? or generate just random numbers of this size? IIRC, Schneier discusses some algorithms there for generating and determining whether an arbitrary number is a prime number or not using probabilistic methods. If I have understood everything correctly, most prime number generation algorithms doesn't necessarily generate true primes. I try to get that book, seems to look nice. I found article about such generation of primes, quite fast, that gives samthing like 99.9999..99% probability that result is really prime. Unfortunately i can not assume even such thing that 1 for 10^30 numbers is wrong. I found that there is such algorithm named AKS, which gives 100% probability that number is really prime. Info about it can be found at: http://www.tcs.hut.fi/~helger/crypto/link/primality_tests/aks.html but this algorithm is really incredibble slow. I try make in in assembler, it may speed it up... thank you! Unless you have a scientific requirement, the 100% probability doesn't do much in cryptography over the 99.99999.......9% probability. It's still extremely hard to crack stuff like RSA. The height should have been set in the dialog editor (1 line by default), although you normaly want to resize it to more. I have never needed to change the size but in the dialog editor. Jerome compile all always, did u have the problem before? includeh1027-Mar-03 19:43 includeh10 27-Mar-03 19:43  problem: when i press button "build" - not "build all", VC 6.0 compiles all of files in the project now. normally, it should not compile any file because there is no file has been modified. i met the problem before, i fixed it with run anti-virus, but the method doesn't work now. so, in the moment, even i just modify one line in one cpp file, vc 6.0 compiles all of files, i have to wait for over 10 minutes for this huge project. normally vc just compiles the file modified then links it to others - totally few seconds. it consumes all of my time for two days. do u know how to solve the problem? thx includeh10 Re: compile all always, did u have the problem before? Watch your system time, it might be set in the past or something, check also the sates of your files to rule out any odd date. These things happens sometimes. Sort by date. Are any of the files "newer" than "now"? If so, open them edit them trivially (i.e. press <space> and <delete>) and save them. Clean the project and compile. This will do a full compile, but now everything should be in sync. (Not the pop group...) Iain. ps. Ease of writing / debugging is more important here than performance. I've not touched GDI+ but it does appear a little easier. But with more overhead... For raw speed of display I'd go with DirectX. But you pay the penalty in programming headache. OpenGL is good for 3d stuff, but I've found it not so good for 2d work. In the final analysis, "It depends". If performance wasn't critical to you, you wouldn't be asking, so I'd have to say DirectX. Iain.
