The << overload is definitely more "elegant", but you're indirectly modifying what is inside main(). So is the guy who used a #define on cout (see replies to this thread). That's something a purist (and pedants like you and me) would frown Unsure | :~ upon. The cleanest solution (IMHO) is the global constructor. Anyway, I like the << overload best (though I'm a purist).
